Yes the cats were good, very good.

But Port were bad, very bad.

I reckon there were 14 other clubs that would have put up a better effort yesterday, including Richmond and Carlton.
I don't believe any of those sides would have beaten them.
But I reckon we would have kept them honest and kept the margin to about 5 goals.

Was easily the Power's worst game for the season.
They choked on the big stage.

Mark Williams is a far better coach than Bomber Thompson.

Anyone willing to debate that step forward.

Not sure what you base that on.
He clearly had a bad day yesterday.

But going back before that Port consistently underformed in those years 2002,2003 when they won the Dr. McLelland but then did nothing in the finals.
2004 was his good year.
He has since done a good job of recruiting/rebuilding the club.
But don't forget that his massive home ground advantage inflates his position on the ladder.

I beleive Mark Williams is a good coach, to debate wheher he is better than someone else is futile as they have different lists and so are hard to compare.

Having said that I dont think yesterday was his best day, not just because they got flogged either. Williams had very few answers when things were not going right, He left Harley loose down back to break up umpteen attacks, Westhoff not getting a sniff in the square and could not seem to find a way to get his runners in to the game at all.

Maybe this year?

Yes they had a crap game...

However they have been restructuring their team and so making the GF THIS year was in front of the plan...so despite the bad game in the GF they are in front of where they were hoping to be.

...Are you comparing that to Thompsons 7 seasons of nothing?

I will go as far as saying that Mark Williams is the best current coach at AFL level. (Equal with the Brisbane man of course).

Chocko had thrown the towel in before half time (clear from the video footage).
He said he found the game boring.

Not the sign of a great coach as far as I'm concerned.

Actually I thought Choco's post-game demaeanour among the more sporting of recent times. Took the time to shake the hands and congratualte all Geelong players.

Was WAY more sporting than the buffoon Cats fans who booed Tredrea when he went to the dias. Sheesh you reckon winning by 20 goals would allow you just a TOUCH of humility in victory

Perhaps they were anticipating Tredders was going to bow.

In fact he was wrong.

He said that Port would not win a premiership under Mark Williams, last time I checked they won the 2004 Premiership with Choco at the helm??

They were horrible on Saturday, but that shouldn't take away from one hell of a remarkable season, a side that was seen to be rebuilding played off for the Premiership. Choco and the Port boys should be proud of all they acheived in 07, and look back on GF day as the aberation that it was.

Nah, good on the Cats fans....kick a dog when it's down I say....it's the GF, they wanted blood, they NEEDED blood.

Also, interesting you use the word humility - wasn't that something lacking late in Tredrea's game against the Roos the previous week???

Remember most of them are feral, inbred, homeless country hillbillies.

One premiership in 44 years won't change that
