$1,000,000 for 10 goals

Post: # 465247Post saintsRrising »

Was announced on the Footy Show that CrazyJohns will cough up a $1,000,000 prize to a player if he kicks 10 goals in this weekends Grand Final...

Could make for an interesting time IF.....the game blows out...

same deal ifa NRL player scores 5 tries in their GF this weekend.

might as well make it 10 million, becasue with no decent FF in either team, theres no way it will even come close to happening

and it looks like it will be a wet GF, so i think port will be lucky if they even get 10 goals! and the cats wont end up with any more than 16 goals!

Hope it's not wet - rain is a great leveler for unskilled teams - brings the truly skillful player down a notch or two.

How says you that?

On Channel 7, they were reporting (from Bureau info I think!) that there is currently a 65% chance of showers in the morning but only 15% in the afternoon.

Given there is about a 90% chance of less rain than forecasts (so it seems in Melbourne!), on current info, it will be bone dry tomorrow arvo!

Saying all that, at 2.30pm tomorrow - look up into the sky and make your own call!!!

It is a bit.

It's probably not "free" - Crazy John's may have taken out insurance against it...what would the odds be? I'd say about $20 (even given the incentive).

So......is there a company prepared to cover them a mill for a $50K outlay???

If not an insurance company...they would have been able to have found a bookie to cover it.....but at what odds???

Minf you they are big enough to self-insure...and imagine the EXTRA publicity that they would gain ifa player did kick the 10 goals.

For costs that would also have had to "pay" Channel 9 in some way to make the plug.

Steve Johnson the only chance IMO, but definately a publicity stunt. Is it just for this year or is it ongoing?

Maybe this year?

Even tho the odds are slim.... what if...

Early 4th Q, Port are 3 goals up, Tredrea has 9 goals... port player passes to Tred instead of slotting an easy goal.... Tred drops the mark, Cats clear... goal and end up winning the game by 3 points.

I don't like it at all. Should be outlawed.
You say it happened early in the 4th? Well, by the sound of it, Tredrea is having a fantastic game, so the chances are Tredrea will kick at least one more goal.

Even though they lose, Tredrea could ease the pain by buying everyone a new car...

Just this year.

Barry Brooks would be too much of a threat next year.

Win it for HIM!
