I think I might be able to help with the how they get the 16 million figure.
They were talking about it on SEN today and they said on there that we are second in the AFL with people watching.
I am guessing 1st would most likely be collingwood.
They didn't seem to scoff at the figure either, they stated it like it was fact. I was tempted to ring in but couldn't as I was driving.
interesting I thought considering the season we had.

In Ross Get lost!
I am excited to stay at St Kilda and this is a great result for the Club and all our fans. I’m proud to be part of the Saints and am pleased to be playing football with the Clubâ€

I know we were second but that figure suggests everyone in Australia over 12 years of age have or are watching the Saints. Can anyone explain that to me.Dal_Santos_Gal wrote:I think I might be able to help with the how they get the 16 million figure.

I'll take your comment at face value, but I would have thought most in the advertising industry (in Melbourne) would know what sort of figures the AFL coverage gets....it would be pretty basic knowledge I would have thoughtGreatNo9s wrote:Hi all long time reader, rarely a poster

We had no idea the Saints property (a) delivered the metrics in the ad and (b) that they were still looking (we assumed they had partners lined up - maybe they do).
As a result of the ad we started discussing internally about our client base.
As for looking desperate, our view was it was innovative.
Thought this might add to the debate.

Let's face it, the decision to advertise for a new sponsor in a local rag would be a hell of a lot cheaper than taking anyone to lunch Unless of course it's acceptable to take potential sponsors to McDonalds of course. Ahhhh St.Kilda on a shoestring - ya got to love it!
When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
What part about 'completely humiliating' is open to interpretation? Was agreeing with you. Though the question is rhetorical-Butterss' petulant media outbursts, the fact that the CEO and current President weren't/aren't communicating and a deep division at board level is all systematic of why we have to put adverts in newspapers. Perception, indeed, is everything!Saints Premiers 2006 wrote:you better not be sarcastic...mischa wrote:Not to mention completely humiliating.
