How much should Harvs be paid in 2008?

Post: # 460490Post saintspremiers »

Firstly, the great man is priceless - that's how much he's worth.

As we can't pay him a million a year, what should he be paid?

I'm assuming he's on about $300K for 2007 - don't know if it's that or even 350K, but whatever it is I hope he gets a 10% rise (minumum) in recognition of his terrific season in 2007 and service to our club.

However modest he is, money talks, and it will be important to him given his low media profile and reduced opportunites after footy due to his nature than say a Reiwoldt.

Let get one of these. Don't think money will be the issue.

He only counts half to the salary cap so I imagine what you suggest is fair.

$4,000,000

All the others distribute part of their player payments to the great man.

$100,000 per match

$100,000 per 20 touches

That should do it.....

Dont see how that works. Is he the last to sign. He should get what he is worth no more and no less.

Don't want to say, because I couldn't help but underpay him...

I blame FM2007.

the great man that he is would settle for minimum wage and still be the most eager to get out on the park.

Any money should go into a medical trust fund for the great man.

Harvey is going to require quite a few skin grafts once his playing days are over.

I think you mean all the skin grafts he'll be paying for... after all the opponents he has burnt.

I think he would be on a reasonably small salary. With 20 years of AFL footy wage as well as sponsorship deals, his AFL store, HWH, etc and I think he wouldn't be too concerned about money. I'm guessing he'd be on about $220k.

there is only ONE reason harvs would put back retirement that is a FLAG.

I dont think fans on here realise that next year we are GOING for the flag like really going for it.

hayes, ball, gardiner, the clarke bros, maguire will be fit unlike last year

do you realise they are top 18 players???

Kosi at FF OMG!!

2008 is a massive chance and if we get the pre season and medical stff better we will end up right at the top.
no doubt!

expect Van reehan, Armitage, geary and howard to end up top 22 by round 10.

we will have the team no doubt about it. RL has been building. Look at the top 22 we will have next year. very impressive and less very less injuries!!

we shouldve made the finals and arguably a top 6 side when we had MAJOR injuries and building FAST YOUNGSTERS.

come on guys seriously why would harvey go round if he thought we would be making up the numbers next year?????
