Scarlett in the BP is such a cop out. They should have picked one FB and stuck by it. Not a lot of run out of defence considering the way the game is played nowadays. Only Milburn and McLeod are real rebounding defenders. They should have had three or four of them. You don't need three or four key defenders because most teams only play two or three key forwards.
They midfield is almost identical to mine. They had Daniel Kerr, I had Joel Corey. Other than that it's the same.
FWIW, here's my team.
Campbell Brown - Matthew Scarlett - Dustin Fletcher
Andrew McLeod - Matthew Egan - Nick Malceski
Joel Corey - Jimmy Bartel - Kane Cornes
Steve Johnson - Matthew Pavlich - Brent Harvey
Brett Ebert - Jonathan Brown - Brad Johnson
Dean Cox - Chad Cornes - Gary Ablett
Jed Adcock - Brett Kirk - Hamish McIntosh - Nick Riewoldt

Thoughts
- Milburn rewarded for 3-4 very good seasons without a particularly outstanding one.
- Geelong benefited from their oustanding run, as did the Bombers in 2000.
- Campbell Brown over Sam Fisher is very much a 50/50 decision IMO
- Both Cornes brothers rewarded for great seasons; always contentious where to select Kane
- Kerr finally gets the nod after three seasons of terrific football
- Mooney's selection is a disgrace, especially over Ebert, Lucas, Lloyd, Gehrig and Franklin who have all had better seasons.
- Riewoldt should have been selected. Statistically had a better season than in 2006 when he was selected.
- D. Fletcher a cop-out on the bench.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

- Campbell Brown's selection is contentious.
- Fletcher should never have been selected. Sam Fisher should have had his spot.
- Mooney's selection is an absolute joke. Surely, guys such as Buddy, Riewoldt and Ebert were all the more deserving.
- McIntosh should have gotten the second ruck spot over Lade.
Otherwise, I agree with the other selections.

Pathetic team.
Defenders
Scarlett - Full back or nothing. Glass was the better full back this year, therefore Scarlett shouldn't be in the side.
Glass - Obious selection
Milburn - Probably deserving. However was no better than Adcock or Fisher
McLeod - Certainly worthy of selection, but not as captain
Egan - He was selected because there was no one else. Hunter has been crap, McPharlin has been crap, Maguire has been injured and there aren't any other decent CHB's going around
Brown - A selection for effort. No way has he been in AA form, but obviously the selectors love his effort and determination. Should not be in the side
Midfielders
K.Cornes - Worthy of selection, but not in the starting 18
Bartel - Obvious selection
C.Cornes - Definite selection, but not on the wing. Either concede that the positions are meaningless and put him at CHB or have him as an onballer
Forwards
S.Johnson - He was excellent after returning, but he only played 17 games. He probably should sneak in due to the lack of other options, though
J.Brown - Has played as a full forward all year and that is where he should be selected
Harvey - Obvious selection
B.Johnson - He didn't have his best year, but his stats are still very impressive. Still far better than any other small forward. Probably a good selection
Pavlich - He deserves his selection, but he should not be at full forward ahead of Brown
Mooney - Absolute joke of a selection. He is an average forward who benefited from awsome delivery. Doesn't get close to Riewoldt or Lucas
Onballers
Cox - He did miss some footy, but he is so much better than every other ruckman it isn't funny
Kerr - Is a bit lucky since he missed quite a few games, but in the games he did play he was just awsome. Probably warranted selection.
Ablett - Obvious selection
Interchange
Corey - Another Cat who was selected just for being a Geelong player. Should never have been picked ahead of Nigel Lappin, Sam Mitchell, Nathan Foley, Peter Burgoyne or Simon Goodwin. Crap selection
Fletcher - Picked on reputation. He floats around, picks up cheap kicks and turns the ball over. Should be behind Fisher, Adcock and probably even Bowden
Lade - Probably lucky to get the spot ahead of McIntosh, but not a bad selection either
Ling - Probably warranted selection
My team
