SEN: Cox (and Embley)
Heard on SEN this morning, so it's only a rumour, that Cox and Embley are pissed off with the way West Coast handled the Kerr & Judd incidents.
SEN stated that Embley definitely wants out, but said no more on Cox.
Would love to get Cox, but can't see how we could. Maybe trade Gardiner ?

Dream on children.
I cannot think of a player in the whole AFL who would be less likely to be offered for trade than Cox.
Attention Mr Saintsational: could you please start a new forum entitled End of Season Fantasy Trades.
This would be place where posters could start threads about whether or not Hawthorn would jump at the chance to trade Hodge, Franklin and a first round draft pick in exchange for Philip Raymond, Matty Ferguson and pick #754.
I click on these threads expecting to see some new information about possible trades and find that I have encounted 200 posts about this sort of pie in the sky twaddle.
I know a lot of people get really excited about this sort of stuff (I recall one poster confessing that the end of the season trade period is his favourite part of the season).
Perhaps I'm just a grumpy old man, but am I the only person on this forum who finds this sort of discussion totally tedious?

Now that's the kind of fantasy I can appreciate. But, cowboy, I suspect that neither you or I could afford her....cowboy18 wrote:True Blue Sainter wrote:Maguire and Giansiracusa to Carlton

He's got every right to be pissed off. But reality is that there is no way WCE will get rid of Judd, Cox, Embley and the potential retirement of Cousins.Saint 58 wrote:Heard on SEN this morning, so it's only a rumour, that Cox and Embley are pissed off with the way West Coast handled the Kerr & Judd incidents.

Agreed, but looking at the very big picture, imagine the message sent to the "world" if two top players, (i.e. Cox & Embley), left the Eagles and said why they were leavingsuper dooper wrote:He's got every right to be pissed off. Cox is worth a hell of a lot more than a nuymber 9 pick.wildgoose wrote:Give away our number 9 pick, and involve another club as well, so we can get him, Id make every effort to get him, if he becomes available as well.
I mean cmon guys. ARmitage (number 9) or Cox ?
Cox is an All AUstralian Premiership ruckman , superstar of the game and still young. He is worth more than a number 1 pick.

I heard this morning from a very reliable source, that we were offered Cox for Heath Black in a straight trade - but Lord V knocked it back!
Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Yeah...makes me wonder how F.O.S you're "reliable source" is.crowjelly wrote:I heard this morning from a very reliable source, that we were offered Cox for Heath Black in a straight trade - but Lord V knocked it back!

The scuttlebut around St Kilda was that GT wanted big Dean to come to Moorabbin. As luck would have it, Gardiner got injured and Cox became the number 1 ruckman and has not looked back.
Heath Black was a goner anyway and a deal was done only to be submitted too late for the deadline.

In fairness crowjelly, on one in the world knew that Cox would be as good as he is now back then ....
Cox will never leave West Coast. He is a WA boy and will probably be made their captain now that Judd has gone. He is the most influential player in the AFL IMO and the Eagles' best.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.
