Nathan Burke or "me"
"Send Nathan Burke or me the enclosed proxy".
"Give Nathan Burke or me your support".
Maybe this is a bit pedantic but when I went to school it was "Nathan Burke or I" or "Nathan Burke or myself".
"Nathan Burke or me" is what you would expect from an undereducated Collingwood or Port supporter, not a President of our club.
"Give Nathan Burke or me your support".

"Nathan Burke or me" is correct. "Nathan Burke or I" is not.
A single mother from the Broady estate might say "Me partner an me".
Whereas the Queen would say "My husband and I".
We speak the Queen's English do we not ?

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Yea I was a bit confused by that aswell because "Nathan Burke or Me"
seems like the sort of thing you would have got told off for saying in primary school, but "Nathan Burke or I" also seems wrong, the only thing that I could think of that sounds right is "Nathan Burke or Myself"
Anyway it doesn't matter if it's right or wrong because either way Westaway's use of language is still better than Bedwell's...

Oh dearie me...yes this is a major issue...we can't have a mere commoner as president...especially someone who has made in good in trucking/transport...hardly Law or Medicine is it!!!!!Enrico_Misso wrote:doggerel wrote:What school did you go to Enrico? You think any documents like this have to be in legal language, don't they?riccardo wrote:I think any documents like this has to be in legal language, dosen't it?
Maybe its right from that stand point?
No, they don't. Clear and simple language is fine.
"Nathan Burke or me" makes zero difference in that respect, but is nevertheless correct English ("Nathan Burke or I" is incorrect).
My concern is paragraph 9.
'"Million dollar profits" sound great to the supporters, but where it has been achieved mainly by reducing costs rather than making more money; that we were bottom in 2006 in revenue in the AFL; that our revenue has hardly grown in the last few years, you realise it's not as good as it sounds.'
Omitted words, subject-verb confusion, fragmented sentences ... it's a farking dog's breakfast.
And what's with the multiple pixelated photographs of Nathan Burke (not to mention Bromberg and Klim)? Could they not have got their hands on a camera and taken a quick headshot of Burke in a shirt and tie?
