Ok...where are all these Draft Ruckmen????
My apologies for all for going back to talking football talent again.....but a while back I was assured that our first pick would be a ruckman as this year was going to be the year for ruckmen...or at least that is was Saintsationalists said was the go on Bigfooty.
Well i did not look then...but as our footie season is now over I thought I would have a look......and well all I saw for ruckmen was was about the normal number.......rather than the promised "this will be the year of the ruckmen."
So where are they all then???? If you havae good post with them in it, can you please post the link- THANKS
Here for example is one selection....and yes I know the order of clubs is not right...buy I grabbed it as it listed heights and positions...

From what I can see, after Kreuzer the next most favoured ruckman is Ben McEvoy, at 199cm. But he is looked on as mainly a KPP.
The next, Tom Bellchambers from Tassy is considered Tassy's best ruckman, but how does he rate against all the other states boys?
The others, Dawson Simpson at 207cm, Murray Bushrangers, Andrew Renton at 202cm, from Eastern Ranges, Will Sullivan 202cm from Western Jets, James Mulligan, 201 cm from Queensland, John Shaw, 197cm from Sandringham Dragons, Dean Putt, 202 cm from Calder Cannons, Breen from W.A., and maybe Reece Phoenix, 197cm from N.T. None of them appears to be a standout. I dont know how they would compare. Anyone here have enough knowledge of them to try to put them in order of preference, from Bellchambers on?

just on that draft i cannot see Masten going b4 Palmer but if either are still around by pick 9 we should snap them up

Rankings will no doubt vary hugely....it does however givea resaonable snap shot of who is around in the top two dozen ish...and what player types are available.

I do like the sound of Alex Rance at pick 9, with Max having a few years left it would be a very opportune time to draft a quality young defender. Unless one of the real gun mids slips to us (like Selwood did for the Cats), getting a tall defender like Rance would suit us beautifully.
You can still usually pick up decent mids later in the draft. As for ruckmen...well it looks like a trade or a development pick will be a goer.

After seeing 2 games of Glenelg on ABC2 in the last 2 weeks i am impressed by young Daniel Kirk as a ruckman he has been coached this year by Mark Mickan and shows a bit. He is 24yo 200cm 101kg and doesn't have the long term development that some of the under 18's will require. We could probably pick him up with a 3rd Rnd pick maybe a fourth.
Other players that have impressed both weeks have been - Sam Rudolph 23yo 189cm 81kg FB, Mark Ruwoldt 20yo, 180cm 84kg Mid and Ruory Kirkby 20yo 192cm 89kg FF/CHF.
