Interesting whisper today from a long time work mate who lives next door to someone inside Carlton.
Anyone know how happy Maguire is at Moorabbin. Suggestion that he is keen to move on.
Cr@p I said, but the rumours I've heard over the past two years have been 99% followed up (ie Whitnall's fat suspenson, Pagan gone no matter what happened during the Brisbane game, blah blah blah).

wtf is it with the attitude of trading a young CHB coming back from injury for a 26/27 year old ruckman?
jolly actually comes across as a decent bloke but where we have been stretched in is the back line
so we trade away our CHB

IIRC, it was because Hawthorn offered him a 3 year deal after Saints offered him only a 1 year deal on medical advice. It was a knee reconstruction and the specialist advice was not to sign him on a long term contract. Once he received the offer from Hawthorn he didn't bother coming back to Saints and allow them the opportunity to match/better the offer. he just went. The Saints never anticiapated he would go anywhere else and had made room in their salary cap to re-sign him by getting rid of player(s).Saint Bev wrote:For a start he didn't break his leg. of ..ffs...haver a look at the article on him in this weeks "inside football"......he loves the club ..and his mates...says all he wants to do is have a big pre-season so that he can put his hand up next season and hold down centre half back........

if we can somehow get jolly to the club it would be a major deal in my opinion with jolly still having a good 5 years left
realistically what do we think a trade with jolly would cost??
and also our first round pick should be out of the question unless it is downgrading to sydney's pick
maybe our first round and second round pick for sydney's first round???
for this to work though sydney would have to go deep into september though...
