We had the next pick in the draft. Armitage.
I had my heart in my mouth when Selwood wasn't called, hoping we'd get him. Same deal with Nathan Djerkkura - and we took Bradley Howard with the next pick.
Let's hope Armo is inspired by this to work harder over the pre-season.

how can anyone justify giving bryce gibbs 6 votes???
all season he was constantly beaten on the oppositions worst half forward flanker...
that is saying something to this boys 'talent'
and considering gilber only started palying the game recently, growing up in a state where afl is foreign for the majority...
ah i rest my case

From the old days of usenet when someone leaving a message blank made you unsure whether it was intentionally blank, or your connection was stuffed.

Stats show that Gilbert had a better year than just about everyone who polled votes. Hurn finished fifth, even though Gilbert averaged more disposals, marks and tackles. It amazes me that someone who's so tall, so fast and so talented can escape the eyes of supposedly knowledgeable football people.midas_touch wrote:Stats show that Gilbert had a better year than Gibbs.
But I'm quite content for people to underrate Gilbo.
I'll pass on kissing your hairy whatsit, but you are deadset spot on.JeffDunne wrote:Bryce Gibbs.
Better season than Gilbert?
Kiss my hairy arse.
He isn't known as Bryce Squibbs for nothing.
How many contests did young Sam Gilbert shirk this season???
A big round ducks egg that how many.
And how Squibbs be seen to be better than Martin Clarke
pfft
Lance or James??
