There is no way we can take 3.5 ruckmen into a game against a running team like the Eagles. Taking Kosi, Rix, Doc and Blake who will do some ruck work simply isn't viable. IMO Rix won't be recalled and Doc is on shaky ground due to the mobility of the Eagles rucks. We will be better suited to bring in more midfielders or running players to counter their speed and mobility. Whilst Birss isn't quick be has more mobility than both Doc and Rix so he will not be dropped. Gwilt is another i would consider bringing in to assist down back.

I tihnk Rixxy could be recalled to stop Lynch.

With Max out, Rix could hold down full back.

Not saying he will, or that he should, but im sure there are some matchups that would be causing RL a few minor headaches and this might be on of them..

Actually the season before we drafted him, Rix had been rotated through the ruck AND full back all season for box hill.

His versatility for someone his size was one of the reasons we took him.

thats fair enough but as a consequence we will see Cox and Seaby carve us up in the midfield. With their weakened midfield Cox will be more like a ruck rover (ala the role Goodes played for the swans when he used to ruck) there is no way that Doc or Rix will be able to go with him or Seaby in that case. We will have Gtrain down forward this time so we can allow Kosi to play more up the ground. We beat the Eagles with our pressure on the ball we need to have a team that can apply this pressure and keeping up with them will be a key ingredient to that. If we want to have another big in the forward line that can ruck i would look at Junior Watts as an option in that regard. Not sure of his Rucking ability but he has the size to give a contest and run around the ground whilst spelling Kosi. With this we can rest our Rucks in the forward line rather than the bench.

we didnt draft him because he was a full-back we drafted him because we had ruck problems with the likes of ackland and blake not saying that blake is a shyte ruckman but isnt tall enough if rix was a full back at box hill he will stay as a full back at the box hill hawks if he is ever thrown at full back who ever the full forward is will smash him sadly

doc and rix are good quality ruckmen cox will most likely do most of the load seaby will spend time down forward to try and stretch our defence out

i acknowledge the ability of Doc and Rix is not too shabby but they don't have the legs to compete with Cox around the ground. Cox isn't the best ruckman in the league because of his tap work, it his around the ground mobility that makes him more of a threat than most of the lumbering bigs in the game. He gets the ball running through the middle or down the wings like a smaller player does this is his main weapon as a big. (Hence why everybody wants Kruezer and Luenberger). Blake in the past has competed with him around the ground and gives a contest in the ruck. We have a good enough midfield to match it with their depleted stocks at the drop of the ball in the ruck contests. But in general play Cox will beat Rix and Doc because he is an athlete. Kosi and Blake are better equipped to compete with Cox on this level.

I would have Clarke take most of the centre bounces then drop back to defense. Blake to then run with Cox. Kosi to take the ruck when Cox is resting.

That is a good option we did similar to that early in the last game we played against them with Kosi going forward instead can't recall who took Cox around the ground presume it was Blake.

we need attard as our back up tagger and we need rixy in because kozi can spend more time up forward and stretch the eagles defence and rix and doc can do the ruckwork with kozi chipping in

Shouldnt you be at school homie?

Fact is, the Big Q is BIG man, he gets most of his goals because hes bigger and stronger than most defenders.

He also pushes up to CHB and Rix has all the attributes to keep up with him.

Give Rix a role and he plays well - as we saw when he played at CHB earlier in the season.

attard should play to keep mark lecra honest the bloke kicked a bag last week and was near on BOG attard needs to take him to the cleaners
lynch will do SFA if the midfeild dont allow the quick kicks into him if our mids can get WC to have to bomb long we will hve to drop Chips infront of the big dopey Q he will mop it up 9/10 hansen is more of a concern imo but again their forwards only look as good as they do cause the mids get it to them laces out stop the mids and we go a lonnng way to winning the game
