Can we beat West Coast

yes we can, IMO we are marginally stronger than when we played them last.
they are marginally weaker.
we are in fair form leading to good form, they are up and down form.
we are missing a few players of real quality in max, probably baker, harvey, goddard, they will be missing 3 or 4 from their midfield A team.
lynch and hanson are in fair form, so are milne, reiwoldt, and FG, our midfileld which we will field on friday if ball and lenny come up will sahde theres if they are missing embley, kerr, possible cousins and judd with injury.
our defence is built around maguire and fisher, they have glass.
their rucks>our rucks
if we can't win at home, whith this scenario, we are out of the game.

They have noone to match up our forward line if Kosi plays.
He tore them a new one in the first half of Harves 350th.
With G in form now, Roo always working hard like he does, and Kosi taking those big grabs... at the dome now that our midfield are getting hands on the ball and delivering it quick... we can definitely win this.

If we're ever going to win a flag - we need to beat the Eagirls over here. Bring em' on. If Bakes plays - boy won't he be fired up!!
I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

YES if the Saints execute OUR gameplan well for FOUR quarters the Saints will win.Dan Warna wrote:yep, they will tear us apart if we play Chippilotto, bt if we can pump it forward in the general direction of V2, Reiwoldt, FG and MIlne, and then back up, we will score enough to give them the cooties.
If however we just " pump it forward in the general direction of V2, Reiwoldt, FG and MIlne" we will lose.
Players must kick to leads...or designated go-to zones where they know team-mates will run to.
Just pumping the ball long would be suicide.

A lot of our attacks against freo were just that, flat out attack, a lot were intercepted, a lot got through.saintsRrising wrote:YES if the Saints execute OUR gameplan well for FOUR quarters the Saints will win.Dan Warna wrote:yep, they will tear us apart if we play Chippilotto, bt if we can pump it forward in the general direction of V2, Reiwoldt, FG and MIlne, and then back up, we will score enough to give them the cooties.

a lot of times V2, FG, and Reiwoldt brought it to ground with others running up.
one which looked to be easily intercepted by freo, i think it was V2 who executed a beautiful spoil which allowed us to reload.
a fair few were to teh 10 to 20m outside the square, where, x, V2 and others consistantly competed in, or the pockets where FG slotted a few beauties or long leads.
I can't remember who posted it on sat night but someone said we took far more risks on saturday than the preceding weeks before.
it seemed they trusted the forwards to compete, or if not to chase and harry.
there was passage that they eventually broke out of but they must have had about 10 possessions within 5 metres of their D50 and instide their D50 because we chased and harrassed etc.
we took risks and worked harder.
it was similar to they way we have worked in previous years, and the way we played when we beat melbourne, WCE, adelaide and dorkthorn.

Rubbish...there was still purpose to most of them...rather than pumping it long.Dan Warna wrote:

.
Either Milnes' goal of the night was actually team play....he was kicking the ball high into the goal square for someone to come in and mark..
V2 was there.
Instead it floated through...
The forward line all game had saints forwards and mids running to present...
Long kicking works by having tagets in motion.....and not by aimless pumping the ball...which is rubbish.

I saw roo was doing a lot of running, he was up and down both wings, at CHF, and floated around CHB for a while.saintsRrising wrote:Did you notice WHERE Roo played against Freo?Dan Warna wrote:our forwards were in motion, if they didn't contest the ball they brought it to ground.

If you did you might have twigged to the structure that RL had set up for the game...
worked really hard.
I did notice we did have at least one player in the F50 for nearly the whole game, I'd be suprised if we had more than 5 mins without someone there, even if it wasn't FG, it was V2 or milne
