He told the Panel tonight that Baker was NOT in front of him.
Panel found that Baker was.
So will Farmer be fined for telling a lie to the Tribunal???

So Jeffery thought he was behind Bakes. This is probably why he slammed his face into Bakes.saintsRrising wrote:He told the Panel tonight that Baker was NOT in front of him.

More proof that Bakes did not initiate the contact if you believe that version of events.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

In contrast Farmer said he standing watching the play when he felt someone make contact 'to the right hand side of his face.'
But he was unable to tell the tribunal who had made contact with him.
"Basically I was watching the play and the next thing I remember contact was made to my face and then I remember being on the ground on all fours."
Farmer then needed assistance to leave the field and did not play the rest of the game and is in doubt for this week's game against his former club Melbourne.
Fremantle trainer Barry Kirkwood also gave evidence telling the tribunal that Baker ran in from about 20 metres away from Farmer from 'a diagonal direction' and made contact with him.
But he was unable to tell the tribunal what form of contact Baker made because his view at the moment of impact was obscured.
So what about Kirkwood too......obviously lied in the view of the tribunal too....
Why is he not being done for lying???

Kirkwood lied to get the case up...IF he had not lied it would not have been put up to be considered.
Fre then have Farmer trot outa second lie..one which contradicted his earlier evidence.
From what they both said...and what the Tribunal believed......Freo we can assume just cooked upa story to get bakes convicted....which failed...only to have the tribunal suspend bakes anyway after not believing the two Freo liers.

Where did you get this snippet of info? If true this is prime rebuff material in any appeal or legal challenge.Grimfang wrote:It gets better. The AFL gave Kirkwood copies of both Baker's and Farmer's statements to the investigator before he was to give evidence. What reason was there to do this other than assist in setting up the lie?

If so this is a breech....Grimfang wrote:It gets better. The AFL gave Kirkwood copies of both Baker's and Farmer's statements to the investigator before he was to give evidence. What reason was there to do this other than assist in setting up the lie?
The 3aw reporter Bond specifically mentioned that Kirkwood COULD NOT be present when Farmer gave his evidence (and he was not present) as he could bias him.
So WTF???????????
