Baker did something wrong
Do the crime, Do the time.
I was on level 2 in the medallion stand, at the front watching these two players when Baker elbowed Farmer in the face.
I saw it and several others around me saw it also.
He is guilty of striking, i'm hoping nothing happens but lets face it. He will get 4 weeks minimum. Reason. He is a Stkilda Player.

Big gutsy call from a long time member who is clearly not a troll.
I hope it's not seen that way at the tribunal for Bakes' and Saints' sake, but good on you for having the nads to pipe up.
As opposed to the crappy Dockers forum I'm sure this thread won't be deleted or edited.
That's why we have a great site.

Apparently Baker has a lump on his head from the impact.sainter58 wrote:He ran at him and lifted his elbow. once he struck he kept running towards southern goals. I would say Farmer said something to him and Bakes Retaliated. Maybe he could say something like what was said to headland.
The popular version is that Farmer ran into Baker, are you saying Baker ran into Farmer?
That is completely contradictory to what is being said publicly.

again they have to prove he is guilty b4 we need to tell them why or how he did itsainter58 wrote:He ran at him and lifted his elbow. once he struck he kept running towards southern goals. the prosicution has to prove hes guilty not baker prove hes innocent , i think its called burden of proof
unless there are diff rules for the trybunal to that of the legal system ?

Sainter58, I'm a bit non-plussed so would love some information pleaseIceman234 wrote:sainter58 wrote:Do the crime, Do the time.

.
Why didn't you post this yesterday or the day before? There have literally been 100's of posts on this matter and yet not a single indication of anything like this?
There have been numerous telephone calls to talkback radio and not 1 person who claimed to have seen the incident has said anything like what you saw?
Given what you saw, how do you explain the apparent bump on the back of Bakes' head?
If what you saw is correct, then why has Bakes been charged with 'rough play' rather than 'striking'?

Surely week in week out we're shown that infact all players who front the tribunal are guilty and must prove their innocence. In this case, he's guilty because of the jumper he wears, and the word of the almighty FIGJAM.st_Trav_ofWA wrote:again they have to prove he is guilty b4 we need to tell them why or how he did itsainter58 wrote:He ran at him and lifted his elbow. once he struck he kept running towards southern goals. If this was a case in a proper court of law, there wouldn't even be enough evidence to get it in front of a magistrate.
I knew doing legal studies back in year 11 would come in handy one day

But Farmer always rips the Dees in half and while I think we have a snowballs chance in hell of winning, life would be better if he wasn't on the ground this week.

I agree.Dan Warna wrote:well if the tribunal finds him guilty and he is guilty so be it.
If you do the crime, then I hve no issue with doing the time.
The problem is that I don't believe we've done the crimes in the past, whilst other clubs have yet haven't done the time.
Baker's kicking suspension, and the unbelievable 'attempted jumper punch' one I just cannot get over.
If he did what Sainter58 says (although it's a very different version of events to what other 'witnesses' have said) then I don't have an issue with him being found guilty.
If what the other witnesses say is true though, and he gets found guilty - my support of anything to do with the AFL will cease immediately.
Enough is enough.
i have stated a number of times I dont support the AFL any more.
I support st kilda.
I've gone from being a footy fan, to a st kilda fan to a st kilda member.
I guess im bit like the drunk gambler.
I keep tipping money in till the eventual premiership.
when we win one, Im gonna be there.

Week in week out we are shown that a number of incidents which bare a striking similarity to each other are viewed completely differently when being acted out by different players.St Chris wrote: Surely week in week out we're shown that infact all players who front the tribunal are guilty and must prove their innocence.
I really wish that wasn't true 'cause it is so pathetically sadSt Chris wrote: In this case, he's guilty because of the jumper he wears, and the word of the almighty FIGJAM.
But this I am not sure about, I was severely assaulted a few years ago and was one of only a few witnesses to the attack in court. Now there was no other evidence o(footage or DNA etc), just other witness statements including mine (the victim).St Chris wrote: If this was a case in a proper court of law, there wouldn't even be enough evidence to get it in front of a magistrate.
Will Farmer be called on by the AFL to give evidence?

I totally agree! That jumper punch rubbish was laughable! About time we were let off the hook for an inconsistency with their video footage!Dan Warna wrote:

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
From where i was sitting, the game was very close from where i normally sit on level 3. Look there could of been a clash of heads and bakes lifted his elbow up to protect him but it looked like bakes elbow hit Farmer in the face.
The two players where slightly on an angle to where we where sitting. Farmer goes to the ground and Baker runs away. The chance of it being accidental i would say are very slim. My position in the medallion club was behind Freo's interchange bench on level 2, 3 rows from front. There was nobody sitting in front so my view was clear.
