Legal Action
As a member of the saints I feel that I will use this forum to endorse any legal appeal against an impending S.Baker suspension. As a financial supporter (unfortunately not a shareholder) I demand that the club ensure that the AFL's kangaroo court does not try and convict Baker of something that has no admissable video evidence. After years of precendents the standard has been set and even if baker did do something 'untoward' it can't be found guilty.
The club HAS to appeal against any sentence (if found guilty) and ensure that he play's this weekend.

I wont rest your honour till I see Stinger charging into the supreme court in full wig and gown......only to be told by the court officials he has the wrong day....JeffDunne wrote:If Baker is suspended on the 'evidence' given by a Freo official then I expect us to do a 'Sydney' and challenge this in the Supreme Court.
Who am I kidding? We'll simply bend over and take it as usual.
Ive even got the opening arguement from the great SS legal leviathan:

I sincerely hope that the Club has emplotyed David Grace QC to handle the case tonight.
He has a 100% winning record at the Tribunal and for those who don't know who he is, he handled the following cases:-
for Fremantle against Saints in Sirengate
For Selwood against Fremantle in the 'sledging' case
and others
He would be the first person I'd call to defend Bakes.

Why don't we use B4E as the defence counsel.Teflon wrote:I wont rest your honour till I see Stinger charging into the supreme court in full wig and gown......only to be told by the court officials he has the wrong day....JeffDunne wrote:If Baker is suspended on the 'evidence' given by a Freo official then I expect us to do a 'Sydney' and challenge this in the Supreme Court.

Second thoughts.... no.
He'd front up on the right day..... but the wrong tribunal room.
And I don't think "hits to advantage" stats would go down too well.

Nor would his defence that Bakes was only tagging Farmer in the first place because GT had traded away 8 draft picks for recycled players.GrumpyOne wrote:Why don't we use B4E as the defence counsel.
