why we will win the GF
I have always said that the year the GF lands on my birthday the mighty sainters will win it. I didn't even realise this year that the GF was on sat 29th of september...it hasn't happened for a long long time trust me..
we are going to win it, i just know it!

I'd love to believe it too.....MC Euro Gusto wrote:I have always said that the year the GF lands on my birthday the mighty sainters will win it. I didn't even realise this year that the GF was on sat 29th of september...it hasn't happened for a long long time trust me..

We are no chance this year!
It's not a matter of being negative...just reality and looking at it with both eyes open.

I'm in WA that weekend so we are certainties.
I missed '66 cause my dad was transferred to Sydney. He followed them all his life. Maybe my family brings bad luck so will forego GF with the hope we prevail.

We have a rather naive and inflexible coach, a difficult and in many ways unsuitable game plan, we have a few injury problems (but probably no worse than any of the other finals contenders, perhaps bar the Swans: although Kenneally and Hall don't seem anywhere near right to me).
Nonetheless, I reckon we are not without a shot. Because, despite what many posters on this forum believe, we have a terrific list.
If everyone fires on their day - particularly our inconsistent players like X, Raph, Gehrig - and if we get a few of the superhuman efforts that we have seen in finals past (eg, Harvey in 2005 vs the Crows, or Riewoldt in 2006 vs the Demons), we can still do it.
But, of course, we've got to get there first.

Anything is possible...but we need a lot to go right:
Now part from all the team things such as tackling, pressure, playing for 4 quarters etc we need:
* That X continues on with the form that he had against Freo.
* ditto for Hayes. a dominant Hayes is a hugely importnat player for us.
*that Dal can continually be freed up and be the go to person....and that he kicks some goals as he did against Freo.
*that Ball can be useful (I am not that optimitic that I can hope that he will be the player that he can be...)
*that Kosi "clicks'....and holds those game busting contested grabs.
*that M Clarke plays "useful" games in the ruck along with Kosi.
*that GTrain is back in town after having got over his foot injury. An in-form GTrain straightens us up. IMPORTNANTLY the GTrain must stay in motion and lead and lead again. If he reverts to be a carpet snake staying at home in the goal square then FBs such as glass will negate him.
*That Fiora can keep up the level of the Freo game where he had some great inside worked, combined with good running....and a touch of magic (his mark).
*That Gram continues his steady improvement in recent weeks to recapture his 2006 form which he is threatening to do
*That Sam Fisher who is getting a heap of the ball stops wasting it as he has done in recent weeks with some slopping disposal.
*Bakes needs to keep his mojo...which he had against Freo.
*We need the "good" Blake and not the brain fade Blake.
*Milney needs to keep kicking goals and winning the ball.
* Gilbert to keep being Gilbert....but with slightly more accurate kicking...
Now we don't need it all...but we need much it to occur....it can happen....
But will it???...well you & I will just have to wait and see...

Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
there are winners and there are not.
justice doesn't exist.
if it did carlton wouldn't have won in 95, aaron keating wouldn't have a premiership medal etc etc.
you win you win, everyone else suffers.
Geelong were a great team from 89 to 95, they included superstar after superstar but they couldn't do it.
Hawks were robbed against sydney I think in that final in the 90s (I forget the year) when the umpiring was so dead set against them it was unbelievable, it was a time when the AFL started their sydney push.
Justice? deserving? doesn't exist.
St Kilda isn't a priority for the AFL so we have to work 10% harder to win.

If we win the next 6 games we do!!!Milne wrote:its nice to have a little optimism, but we don't deserve to win it this year.
Come on Geelong have had an easy run think back to when they have played every team its always when the other team is down either on form or injuries. Look when they met richmond?? or us?? or essendon? christ tell me we wouldve lost to essendon had they lost 4 players by half time!!

A lot needs to go our way as mentioned but we have the midfield & forward line to scare teams above us...and the defence is starting to come together too.
This week lets us know exactly where we stand
I bought a shirt from Target once.
It had a hard tag on it too.
