Unbelievable
No video evidence!Farmer can't remember... witnesses suggesting a head to head collision.... think the club should defend Baker to the hilt on this one
...take the legal route if required...
Just sick to the stomach of Baker and our club being bent over...REPEATEDLY!
Time to stand our ground

this is where we need leadership from within our club
lets take the legal route if possible and i think we should
how about someone from within the football club comes out tomorrow and tells buckley to get his dodgy legs and ever fading premiership hopes in order before comment about tribunal decisions
leadership now!

Time for the yearly galvanize after playing Freo. This is a rivalry borne of administrative stupidity and incompetence, not on-field heroics.
Ridiculous decision, unless there is evidence that something untoward happened. It can't soley be because of Famer's injury. FFS - how many broken noses has Luke Ball endured?
Bah.

WHAT'S THE CHEW HERE?
Bakes MUST front the tribunal, right?
Though there is no video evidence and no report.
Yet he has no rights to plea etc.
So (and I'm a bit ig on all this) -
Is he stuffed? When someone gets sent directly to the tribunal, what generally happens?
I can't remember and the rules and red-tape seem to change and multiply each freaking year.

What absolute garbage. Theres not even any solid evidence, just mere innuendo. Once again, we have been screwed over by the AFL.

the ironic thing it is is that its two teams that are trying to show the rest of the football world that they are professional in every single waycowboy18 wrote:Time for the yearly galvanize after playing Freo. Remember that he has a week from the double contested report from earlier this season still hanging over his head.
When he is found guilty (the AFL must have already decided to get this far) he will be out for some time.
Some of those past silly acts are catching up to him.
BTW, I think this is a stupid charge by the AFL on the evidence of a listed-player in the media with a vested interest in the outcome of this case.
This greatly reduces St Kilda's chance of finals action and gives Brisbane the chance they need.
The AFL clearly need one of Brisbane or Adelaide in the finals.

Stunned.... Absolutly stunned.
I can only come up with two plausable explinations as to what they have taken this decision.
The first and most likely is Anderson does not want someone on the field with a 150 carry over demirit points He will be found guilt of rough play 40 activation points... rubbed out for one week
The second and wishfull thinking is that they want the facts to be aired publicly so that there is no inuendo as to what actually happened so that everyone can put the issue behind and stop everyone speculating.
I hope this is the case, but if you can be found guilty of attempting to strike you can be found guilty of have someone run up you ar$e

TTSF, I could write an essay on how Bakes has been 'bent over' by the powers that be.TimeToShineFellas wrote:Before anyone accuses me of not standing up for Steven Baker, I just thought I would post some interesting facts re: Steven Baker tribunal record............

AFAIC (discounting the wresting/melee garbage); there's really only one incident that Bakes should have gone for, that is the.......
2004 Round 3 STRIKING Guilty 4 weeks suspension. It was a complete 'brain-fart' by Bakes and he deserved his penalty.
The two that REALLY pissed me off are......
2003 Round 14 KICKING Guilty 1 week suspension....
Bakes was on the ground!! His ankle was being stood on!! He kicked out in retaliation. A disgraceful report and even worse that he was suspended.
2006 Round 17 ATTEMPTED STRIKING Guilty 2 weeks suspension...
He DIDN'T hit anyone!!! He NEVER made contact!!
WTF is "attempted striking"???? and how long has it been a reportable offence?
There are days that it REALLY sucks being a Saints supporter.

Even if it has been referred directly to the Tribunal, presumably the Tribunal has to hear the case on its merits and make a decision based on the evidence led at the hearing.
The fact that the AFL has referred the matter for consideration should not be matter which infleunces the outcome of a merits based decision.
I hope and trust...... but then perhaps I have too much faith in a process which has been shown to be corrupted in the past.
