They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Beat ya to it Otiman.
Good to see Watts get back into some form and kick a few.
Vossy must be perilously close to selection ... he has been in the best for the Scorps every week since he was dropped.

Consider the below team:
FB: Ferguson Gilbet L Fisher
HB:Gram S Fisher Maguire
C: X Clarke Hayes Dal Santo
HF: Goddard Riewoldt Fiora
FF: Armitage Watts R Clarke
R: Brooks Ball Montagna
INT: Koschitzke McQualter Baker Attard
Looking pretty damn good in a few years time when ALL these players will be roughly the same age......Ive always said: We will only get better!!!!!!

Yeh, I considered that but the way I see it is:
Koschitke will be the part time Ruckman/Forward. Therefore on 'paper' he starts on the bench. Get my flow there brother?

Hasn't gotten it under Lyon either... and his form this season is arguably his best ever.Teflon wrote:I genuinely believe Brooks has the ability to make it and I hope they give him an extended go which he never got under Thomas IMO.
Back the guy he has the skills........maybe its just the attitude we need to get right...
IMO his papers are stamped... hope i'm wrong though

Banfield on Brooks before this weeks game:
"Barry has been really good playing in the ruck," he said.
"I've been really happy with him. His ability to win the centre bounce and mark the ball around the ground and I reckon he's had a good year."
INFO AFTER THE GAME
Compared with the youthful Devils, Casey had the likes of AFL-experienced players Brett Voss (24 touches, two goals) and Andrew Thompson (28 possessions).
Added to this, Saints-listed forward Fergus Watts kicked seven goals against undersized defenders, while another fellow Saint, former King Islander Barry Brooks, starred and will be one of the first names on the Devils' recruiting hit-list should he be chopped at the end of the season from the AFL.

brooks must be considered ahead of clarke adn rix.
in fact on current form, rest FG for a week, he puts in and needs a break, kosi FF, Reiwoldt CHF, brooks and rix rotating in the ruck.
Im no fan of rix but the guy is gives 100% and thats impressive.
clarke is too slow and gesticulates when he muffs it. He is a nice guy, but smacks of monkey syndrome when he came to st kilda for a retirement year.

Yes a Catch 22Bernard Shakey wrote:Saints are still in the finals race, so no extravagant changes will be made this week. Especially not to put in players that will be cut in a month.
We are in the finals race still...and given the draw of who plays who....perhaps can make it even with only 2 wins out of 3...and so need to play our best team.
On the other hand....it would be interesting to see what players like watts, Brooks and Ferg could do in the reamaining games to see where they are at...and who should kept or delisted...
Selection wise though....are we just treading water????
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
