Re: The Silly Season
Not sure Arie will ever be a key defender(?)
Hope not.
If he did, what a waste.
I want this bloke pushing forward, like Nas and Sinkers have been doing of late. If Arie could develop the tank, I'd love to see him stepping into Loris' boy's wing position in a couple of years.
Why?
Because we want our best kicks kicking it inside the forward 50.
(Or in Arie's case, kicking goals from inside the forward 65. )

place in the ‘good looks & intellect’, categories tho’ Davey McN - fingers crossed he can develop into a winger who can defend & attack

I think both Fiora and Savage were accused of the same thing.SteeleSaints wrote: ↑Sat 02 Nov 2024 12:50pmThat will be a good development position for him, hopefully at some point he has the game to fill a key defender role.
His defensive game cant be any worse than Bonners thats for sure. I havent seen an AFL player so averse to physical contact as Bonner for a long long time.

Great grab
Got injured

I don’t about his time at Richmond where he first got the label… but Fiora to me routinely put his head over the ball and absolutely never lacked for courage.whiskers3614 wrote: ↑Sat 02 Nov 2024 6:01pmI think both Fiora and Savage were accused of the same thing.SteeleSaints wrote: ↑Sat 02 Nov 2024 12:50pmThat will be a good development position for him, hopefully at some point he has the game to fill a key defender role.

I always considered him soft in the context that IMO he tended to fail to execute or influence the game under pressure which to me personally is the measure of toughness.
It’s why I rate Riewoldt and Harvey as the toughest. They won us games we should have lost

Wanna talk courage...Justin Koschitzke would look deep into the grill of a runaway Mack truck and take a mark into it face first.skeptic wrote: ↑Sun 03 Nov 2024 12:15pmI don’t about his time at Richmond where he first got the label… but Fiora to me routinely put his head over the ball and absolutely never lacked for courage.whiskers3614 wrote: ↑Sat 02 Nov 2024 6:01pmI think both Fiora and Savage were accused of the same thing.SteeleSaints wrote: ↑Sat 02 Nov 2024 12:50pmThat will be a good development position for him, hopefully at some point he has the game to fill a key defender role.

Yeah
Kosi was courageous
As was Roo, Lenny, Bakes, Blake, Max, Raph and Goose
Armo was a warrior too
For sheer hardness - with intent to hurt - Hamill was nuts
