Dave

1/ do you really think StK CC and CV will give up the Junction?!

2/ Why, if the plan is to move, would we pour money into RSEA

How long is the long game
50 year

I along with 30k bayside supporters hope we never move

1/ Neither StK CC nor CV would be giving up the JO. To the contrary, they'd be gaining additional funding and facilities, and media exposure for their sponsors. Win/win/win. Any half-competent management could see that. (Which is a worry for cricket in Victoria, and Cricket Australia, as the arse-clowns running CV have shown themselves to clearly be not even half-competent.)

2/ Why not? As with Outer Seaford, those facilities at Moorrabbin can benefit a whole raft of local clubs and organizations.

3/ If you'd asked that question in 2014, I'd have said 5-10 years, and we'll be playing boutique home games against low drawing teams. It was all there for us, handed on a platter. But then... Summalovin' and Nutters' stuffed it all up.

But I'd go further. If those two arse-clowns hadn't dropped the golden goose, we'd have a couple more premiership cups in that cabinet today!

So Martin, basically you're advocating that we just stick with our status quo way of doing things...? The way we've been operating since 1873?

Well, to be fair, it hasn't been all bad. Most importantly, we haven't gone the way of the dodo or the swan or the lion (or the Tassie Tiger).

And we do have one premiership cup...

I suppose you do (sort of) have a point there.

A St Kilda footy club that is a league power house, with a cabinet full of premiership cups...? That's not really the St Kilda that we've all come to know and love.

So you may be correct. That'd possibly be too much of a culture shock for some to adjust to.

'Vision'.

Thinking a little 'outside the box'.

Challenging the accepted 'wisdom'.

That's why we aren't still living in caves today.

That's what led to The Renaissance, and hence propelled backwards Europe to global preeminence.

And Martin, since you don't live in a cave, that tells me, if you just concentrate and focus on what could be, then you too, are capable of challenging the accepted wisdom with your out-of-the-box visionary JO is the GO thinking.

I have faith in you Martin. :D

That's certainly the question.

And about ten years ago it was also the question.

Then, almost out of nowhere came the answer. (Unfortunately, almost out of nowhere, there also came Summalovin' and Nutters. )

But once again, shirley there's an opportunity? Cricket Victoria are stuffing-up at the JO, and have gotten themselves into a bit of a financial mess. (And yep, I ain't gonna be magnanimous. I won't pass by the opportunity to gloat and tell them, "I told you so." )

St Kilda coming in to share the ground would bring in the money and facilities to rescue CV. Not forgetting that their original stupid and short sighted decision to not let us in, cost them $15 million in ground upgrade funding. Morons!

And I'd be confident that Lindsay Fox would still have his 'development ideas' for the area. Remembering that as part of all that, he was going to chip-in to help resettle us back at the JO.

I've talked about 'vision' and 'thinking outside of the box'.

Well, what our Saintas' powers-that-be need to do is get on a plane ASAP (I think Lindsay Fox has his own jet?), fly over to The White House, and do a deal with the Democrats.

Forget about getting hold of US nuclear technology to build a handful of submarines. Boring. This is the technology St Kilda needs to get hold of...

"Yes they can control the weather," Greene wrote on X last week, after Hurricane Helene swept across the Southeastern U.S., killing at least 227 people. "It's ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can't be done."

She then posted an image of Helene overlaid on an electoral map, suggesting that the hurricane's path had been intentionally set in motion to target Republican-leaning counties. The map appeared to have been created by Matt Wallace, a crypto influencer and conspiracy theorist with over 2 million followers on X.

"This took me a long time to make!" Wallace wrote on Sept. 30, posting an image of the map. "I created map showing the path of destruction of Hurricane Helene with an overlay of the 2020 election results... The storm seemed to almost methodically miss the bluest parts of those crucial swing states, while simultaneously ravaging the red parts. What a crazy coincidence!"
https://www.newsweek.com/marjorie-taylo ... ry-1966255

"Yes they can control the weather," the Georgia lawmaker and staunch Donald Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday night. "Anyone who says they don't, or makes fun of this, is lying to you. By the way, the people know it and hate all of you who try to cover it up."
https://www.newsweek.com/marjorie-taylo ... sh-1964508

Think about it Saintas.

Every quarter we could have the wind (hurricane strength, if we want) blowing to the end we're kicking. :D

But, we have to get to the JO. This tech' would be useless at the roof-always-closed Dockedlands Stadium.

PS: In case you're wondering saynta, yes, Marge does have an 'e' in her Greene.

Would we have won that flag if we'd stayed at the JO? Hard to say. But for the sake of the discussion, lets run with saying that Moorrabbin was a crucial part to our premiership.

However, that's one flag. Fitzroy won eight flags. Yet, the history books tell us that ultimately, that didn't help them...

So, what's my point...?

From the early 60s till the early 70s, our beloved Saintas were finally the league powerhouse we always should have been. (And still should be!) Strong teams, huge crowds, regular appearances at the pointy end of the season.

Then, from the mid 70s all that changed. Dramatically.
- Seven wooden spoons. (I think that number is correct...?)
- 17 years without a finals appearance.
- Forced to let go beloved players like... Pervoic, Greene (also with an 'e' ), Ditterich, Sidebottom, the Elliott brothers.
- Graham Moss. He won the 1976 Brownlow. For Team Drugs! He was going to be a Saint, but, we had to relinquish the 'Form 4'.
- Oh, and we so so so nearly went out of existence as a footy club, a la Fitzroy.
- I could go on, but it's too depressing.

So, what's my point again...?

Martin, you said "Best thing StK FC ever did, was move out of the Juntion to Moorabbin!"

Well, I'm not sure I can agree with that. There's an (incredibly) dark side, dark consequences, to our move to Moorrabbin, that I've just listed.

Martin earlier asked about timelines and plans.
1. Clearly this is the return to the JO.
2. Then we make an urgent visit to the USA to obtain the US Democrat's weather controlling technology.
3. The almost complete lack of father-sons has long been an issue for out club. As in, we only seem to produce daughters. But not anymore.
The second stage of our club's mission to the USA is to visit the USA Education Department (or whatever theirs is called). We need their latest technology too. This will be the final missing piece in our premiership jigsaw.
“The transgender thing is incredible. Think of it. Your kid goes to school and comes home a few days later with an operation. The school decides what’s going to happen with your child,” Trump said in remarks to the conservative group Moms for Liberty.
https://edition.cnn.com/2024/09/04/poli ... index.html

“Can you imagine you’re a parent and your son leaves the house and you say, ‘Jimmy, I love you so much, go have a good day in school,’ and your son comes back with a brutal operation? Can you even imagine this? What the hell is wrong with our country?” Trump said Saturday at a campaign rally in Wisconsin, a vital swing state.

Trump made similar remarks — saying children were returning home from school after having had surgical procedures — the previous weekend at an event hosted by Moms for Liberty, a parent activist group that has gained outsized influence in conservative politics in recent years.

Asked by one of the group’s co-founders how he would address the “explosion in the number of children who identify as transgender,” Trump said: “Your kid goes to school and comes home a few days later with an operation. The school decides what’s going to happen with your child.”
https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-pol ... rcna170217

I reckon we could rejig the Danny Frwaley Centre to perform those surgeries for us.

See Martin.

Success is all about trying something different. All about 'vision'. All about innovative 'out-of-the-box' thinking.

That's how we will make St Kilda great again. :D

Returing to a suburban cricket ground would be a bad decision

A lot of people saying that Moorabbin is an elite training venue. After all the work into going back and bringing it up to scratch why would you leave and go to the Junction Oval. Not much logic there.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

JO needs branding.
WACA: bounce
Karen Rolton: flatter than Dubai's drop ins
Gabba: swing
SCG: spin
Tasmania: drift and hail
Townsville: killer humidity and lush outfield.
JO is just featureless. No atmosphere, most don't know it exists. Visiting teams keep ending up at the F1 track or Luna Park or endlessly walking the shores of Albert Park Lake.

They've got this show on Foxtel called FBoy Island.

Season 3 might perhaps drop 1 or 2 'boys' and introduce F/man
