Theres something on the nose with Mathew Kennedy.bobmurray wrote: ↑Mon 07 Oct 2024 10:25pm Trade radio was suggesting, if the Dullbogs want too much for McCrae then the Saints should look at Matthew Kennedy from Carlton instead.
They said Kennedy is younger, salary wise he's a lot cheaper and he's a good player, i don't remember who they rated the better player.

He displayed annoyance towards Lord Voss, darling of Carlton, Lions and the Media, pursuer of car theives. Punishment: banishment and shunning.CURLY wrote: ↑Tue 08 Oct 2024 8:19amTheres something on the nose with Mathew Kennedy.bobmurray wrote: ↑Mon 07 Oct 2024 10:25pm Trade radio was suggesting, if the Dullbogs want too much for McCrae then the Saints should look at Matthew Kennedy from Carlton instead.

Just keep in mind the Mighty Voss is a proven coaching failure before forming too harsh an opinion on Mr Kennedy.

Re: Jack McCrae
I like McCrae as a temporary measure while we have cash to spend, but also if the bulldogs are going to play hardball and not accept a 3rd round or later pick then Kennedy isn't the worst option.
Maybe that is just the public signal the club wants to put out (via Joey), just telling the dogs to come to the table or we will explore other options.

Re: Jack McCrae
Kennedy gives us nothing we don't already have.
He is a B to C grade midfielder we lack A graders not average midfielders.
I think bringing in Matthew Kennedy is a backward step and a real Moneyball selection which is exactly what we don't need.
I personally don't think we should be chasing Macrae either but at least he was an A grader and has the potential if he can wind back the clock to be one again.
Kennedy was never an elite performer and never will be, he is Dow mark 2.

Re: Jack McCrae
We don't need to keep bringing in players that aren't good enough to get a game in their current teams.
McCrae is coming to us because he wants more midfield time, because he's not good enough to earn it in a current top 8 side.
If he's still getting a lot of midfield time in years 2 and 3 with us then we're going to be in trouble.

Well he's an upgrade on Seb Ross and a replacement for Brad Couch. Look on the bright side.The_Dud wrote: ↑Tue 08 Oct 2024 2:10pm We don't need to keep bringing in players that aren't good enough to get a game in their current teams.

Re: Jack McCrae
Pick 47 and they pay 150k of his current contract per year, would seem about right to me.
They don’t want him and he doesn’t want to be there, so they either cough up or they can keep him as far as I’m concerned.
Or maybe we pick up Finn instead

Getting him is like me trading in my 220k km 15 year old car on an identical type of car of 160k kms that's a 2012.
It's hardly an upgrade, more like a swap that might last a bit longer than the original

No.
Swap of early round third picks.
That’s it.
We’re taking on his salary

Re: Jack McCrae
Dan Hannebery was also a required player at Sydney when we chased him.
We’ll see how required McCrae really is when there is half an hour of trading to go and we haven’t budged on our offer.

Thank god that South Australian failed banker is not in charge of list management any longer.
He’d give #7 and throw in Darcy Wilson as steak knives (after the deal was signed) for McCrae.

Re: Jack McCrae
Quick.. change approach and offer the same pick to Carlton for Matthew Kennedy. Or even better 47 & 32 for Matthew Kennedy & Brodie Kemp & a swap of future 3rds

Apparently the Floggies turned down pick 47. Now they are left with a VFL player who is getting paid almost as much as Bontempelli
