Was Darcy Wilson ripped off
Watching the sprint live at the game, it looked like Wilson hit the tape first, and his reaction straight after suggested that he thought he did too. What did the tv show and was the replay definitive? It appeared that McReery was declared the winner almost immediately. Very confusing at the ground

Re: Was Darcy Wilson ripped off
I think the camera angle was more confusing as it favored Wilson’s side of the lanes, but pretty close to a dead heat I would have thought. They probably gave it to McReery on their view so they could not have to deal with Darcy breaking then getting a headstart on the final race!Moods wrote: ↑Mon 30 Sep 2024 10:03am Watching the sprint live at the game, it looked like Wilson hit the tape first, and his reaction straight after suggested that he thought he did too. The idea is to hit the tape with your body and not your hands. McCreery won.

The finishing line was also bowed and favored the outside runners.

Haha. Sounds like a professionally run race. Wilson broke, the outside lanes were skewered. Using your hands to break the tape isn’t illegal, but I agree it’s first with their chest past the line. Obviously Wilson didn’t do that either

Wilson broke.
Also look at their feet position as they cross the line, The Collingwood players foot is past the cone.
Wilson sprints well on top of being an endurance beast. He’s a very good athlete.
Looks a great pick at #18

Lingers Christie would have been proud of Darcy getting away with that.
