🙈

Brisbane had 80 more touches AND STILL 20 more tackles. That’s called a dominant midfield.

2 thirds of their score came from centre bounce or front half turnovers… but no, Curly says it all came from rebound 50… 😬

Oh dear… 😆
Of course they had more of the ball there back half kept winning it back and feeding it to them.
Sydney on the other hand couldn’t get it back once Brisbane had it as their defence was so bad.

If Blakey is a better CHB option than Andrews please explain to us why.

I will wait.

I know you’re a bit slow, so I’ll write it again but try keep it simpler…

2 thirds (that means most) of their score came from centre bounce (not the defence) or front half turnovers (not the defence)

🙈

Oh, and having an AA key back and being one of the least scored against teams in the comp means their defence is far from ‘poor’

Nothing to do with having a ground that’s a lot easy to defend on??
Sydney’s defence was putrid Saturdayas it was in 2022.
You have no clue about what defence is other than it’s not high point scoring in SuperCoach.

Do yourself a favour go down to a footy club and have a listen to how defence sets up.

Oh my…

Like I said earlier, at least Sydney will be grateful you’ve taken the biggest L of the weekend off them!

Keep swinging champ. Brisbane’s defence kept Sydney to 6 goals in 3/4 of a GF but hey yeah it’s the midfield.

SuperCoach points are the way Dud🤦‍♂️

Like I said, oh my…

Only defenders defend, midfielders mid, and attackers attack.

I think

Defenders attack
Mids are 2 way
Forwards defend

In modern footy

In your world that’s a fact I’d suggest. I’ve seen your posts bagging Howard and right there is an example of someone that has no clue on defense.

We get it a strong defence is Lyons go too. You don’t like Lyon which makes sense as he’s one of the best tactical coaches around.

Agreed.

But you can’t attack if you don’t defend.

Can’t win it unless you have a class midfield.

How many flags have been won by teams that have a midfield of plodders?

We need gun midfielders, when will we learn.... if we don't pick a genuine midfielder with our first rounder I give up.

I think we need 3

Our next premiership

Over half the players on the list won’t be there

And we have to nail 3 drafts in a row

For a core to join, King, Sharman Nas, Owens, Windhager, Phillipou,, Caminiti, Keeler, Wilson, Garcia, Collard, Schoenmaker

And another 6-8 drafted from the next 3 drafts

That's why I want us to take a punt with our 2nd and 3rd round picks rather than try and bring in a 30 year old who has dropped off in output.

I know the chances are low that we might pick up a star mid or future Brownlow medalist, but at least that's better than denying our recruiters ANY opportunity to find good young talent.

AND if we are bringing in someone like Mcrae, you are guaranteeing that 100% he won't be there in the team in 4 years time.

Leigh Montagna and Jack Steven were late picks
Dane Swan - pick 58, 2001
Rory Sloane - pick 44, 2008

Simon Black - pick 31, 1997
Adam Goodes - pick 43, 1997
Ryan O'Keefe - pick 56, 1999

AND...Lachie Neale - drafted in 2011 at pick 58

Pretty sure that CURLY has a point here, defending on a small ground like the SCG is significantly different to defending the wide open space at the MCG.

The Brisbane side and their game plan adapts to the MCG way better than Sydney's. Almost certainly the main reason for the result.

The SCG isn’t as small as people think it is.

For what it is worth I thought the player most valuable to Brisbane was number 37

When the whips were cracking from the get go, he was everywhere when Sydney went forward

When the Brisbane mids got on top and the ball was at one end, not so much

But the first quarter into the second he was the influential player from my watching of the game

Who was 37?

I was most impressed with Fletcher noticed him in all the Brissie games - so cool headed, decision making is first class, good endurance & kicking skills on both sides very good.

Starcevich one of Brisbanes defenders. He didn't have the most stats for the day so can't have been any good hey The Dud

Yes he’s the bald 🧑‍🦲 fellow isn’t he. So he was #37. I also thought he was good - kept Papley second guessing all the time, I think he got inside Pspley’s head - him & Zorko.

Yep the Brisbane defence had an easy day because the Lions mids were so dominant, rarely giving Sydney any easy entries due to their pressure. Plus 80 disposals and plus 20 tackles illustrates this perfectly.

Also the Gabba and SCG are basically the same size.

Lastly, lucky saints have Dougal Howard an not that bum AA Nick Blakey 🙈

I tell you who I'd rather playing on a tall key forward and its not Nick Blakey.

Again with the useless stats. Cmon its not Supercoach.

Curly calls things he doesn’t understand “useless stats”, which others call data backing up what we all saw on the day.

Curly thinks Dougal Howard is a better key defender than Nick Blakey 🙈

Curly thinks the half time sprint was rigged against St Kilda

Curly is NOT deranged at all, and definitely DOES NOT have a loser victim mentality.

Please list the key tall forwards Blakey stands during games. Maybe just the game time he spent on Daniher from Saturday if you're struggling.
Just because you are a complete moron I will help you out. Zero

You reckon the extra 80 touches means much in a game that was over at half time. The Lions had about 40 uncontested circle work touches in the last 5 minutes alone.

Who gives two f**** about the sprint but it was mentioned that the finishing line was bowed in the center.
