If we're talking to Merret, great! He is exactly the sort of player we should be looking to add. Would be our best mid, would fit our game plan and isn't too old (upper end though)

I think the most interesting part of this story isn’t so much that we are talking to him but more so that Merrett is prepared to engage in any sort of conversation with us. He has three years to run on a contract, is captain of his club and has won four best and Fairest and his likely to add a fifth this year. I’d be bleeding if I was a bomber supporter. He won’t end up coming to us or go anywhere, but it clearly shows that he’s unhappy
