Re: AFLW
Yes please [and I expect I will be flamed]
It is great that our 'Angels' are on top - but it is a hard watch.
It has been a long time since you could sit back and think - we are 8 points up - 5 minutes to go - we have this in the bag.
Not faulting the effort - they are probably better AFL players than I am - but 23 - 15 is not a spectacle.

Re: AFLW
I'm actually really pumped about today. My teenage kids that haven't seen much success and give me nothing were watching with intent (they won't admit it). There were 5 smothers in the last 5 minutes, a credit to the players and Nicky Dal. I've just sent the ladder to all my mates as success builds success. I really like their away strip today and would like to know if other long term Saints supporters did ? I'm 55 so I'm not gen Z or whatever but I liked it !

Re: AFLW
With such a short season, only a few more wins might lock in finals

Re: AFLW
On the low scoring
It was a slow, high pressure stoppage game with little flow, with spares back
Sat I watched a Div 1 Mens prelim final at RSEA
It was 5 goals to 4
The Ressies was 7 goals to 6
And of course girls footy is going to be lower scoring
On the same size grounds the on average kick the ball 30-40% shorter than the men
It’s like Girls cricket if you played on full size grounds
Scoring would be much lower

It also shows what s*** grounds many of the old suburban grounds were/are when the conditions are not good
The wind was blowing sideways and took away so many of the skills
Unfortunately the women are stuck playing at Casey, Whitten, Windy Hill and even Moorabbin and when the conditions stink so does the skills

Re: AFLW
Today's game result..
ST KILDA 1.1 2.1 2.2 2.2 (14)
FREMANTLE 0.0 2.0 2.6 3.7 (25)
The aints had it in their forward line often enough, but, they just couldn't score.
I'm thinking the bubble is about to burst, big time, they play the Crows in Crowland next.
Pop.
So St Kilda.

Re: AFLW
This stupid Dal Santo indulgence has got to stop. He is not a coach. For god's sake. We have no system whatsoever. The players just fling themselves at the ball or more often the ball carrier. How more fingers and arms don't get broken I don't know. We dumped one of the most experienced coaches in the women's game to give DS a job he's completely unsuited to. If we weren't even prepared to back Harvey to coach the men, why oh why do we have this rank amateur coaching the women? It's so infuriating I could pop!
