We dodged a bullet with Stengle
Hopefully this unravels the club and the player and helps us squash them at Marvel

So a bloke who should be resting up is out on the turps and can't control himself after who knows countless drinks (and possibly other substances) ...but it's someone else's fault that he got that way.
Yeah of course.... that's what every alcoholic will tell you
Plus. Good story to tell media so that they don't pursue any other angle

So he's rushed to hospital one day. Next minute he's training? WTF?
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Once they pump your stomach and put you on a drip to get you hydrated it's all goodJacks Back wrote: ↑Mon 29 Jul 2024 10:59pm So he's rushed to hospital one day. Next minute he's training? WTF?
I knew a guy in the 90's that I'd go out with and he had no control. He'd binge drink and wouldn't stop.
He would basically black out. Couldn't remember a thing after a certain point in time. Sometimes he'd purposely throw up so he could keep drinking until he usually passed out.
His liver had to work overtime to cleanse the alcohol, but some rest and sleep and he was good to go next day.

Re: We dodged a bullet with Stengle
Regardless of this incident, paying big money to lure a small forward doesn’t seem to meet our immediate needs.
Granted the appeal is free agency.
Whatever happened to him be it self inflicted or by others I hope he is ok.

Re: We dodged a bullet with Stengle
Dangerfield and media are suggesting he had his drink laced with is conceivable. The fact that he was out night clubbing midweek shows a lack in judgment.
But he is a young single popular young man he was probably just chasing a piece of boontang. We have all done that in our time.

Did we dodge a bullet (not that I think we should have gotten him)?
He’s had a decent year from what I can see and on the grand scale of indiscretions, this is hardly the worst one. Don’t know that I’m ready to cast him off just yet.

Re: We dodged a bullet with Stengle
The main point is we should never have been throwing money at a small forward in the first place, bizarre decision when we have much more important holes to fill.

Re: We dodged a bullet with Stengle
Hon. R. (Meat Patty) Dangerfield, Member for Kardinia, notes "we treat our players like adults": translation, its all on Tyson, fool that he is.
Tyson will cop some chastening words from coach, fitness guy, team mates, may not play this week.
Geelong must ultimately be forgiving however because TS has just signed a long contract (suckers!) and it is starting to look like it might have a retention problem with Indigenous and Fijian players and coaches.
Any AA aspirations for this year now possibly with a different organisation with same acronym?

Yes. He's a v good footballer but he's a walking time bomb
He's an air head. Hollow between the ears. If you look close enough at his eyes...you can see the back of his skull
