Hmmm… the risk doesn’t justify the cost is I guess what I’m getting at.
If I’m giving up a first… I want to make sure I’m getting something for it.
Josh Gibson and Shaun Burgoyne went to Hawthron for a first round pick and a little bit more.
Trading one of them in and keeping Xavier Clarke for the Lovett role

I’m sure that was reported somewhere, if true it’s gold.
I’ve personally never seen Tsatas play, but the recruiter I know rated him top 5 in his draft year and said he had very good disposal and running capacity.
Interesting that Cal Towmey had him at #5 and AFL at #8 in their mock drafts. Not bad for a kid who can’t kick.
I wonder what has gone wrong with Tsatas and Hobbs who were both highly rated juniors.
Who would you have taken?

Re: Elijah Tsatas
I liked him but at the time really didn’t have much info other than he was related to Dal Santo and he came with a late rush. Kicking wasn’t as elite as Kolo and didn’t win the ball like Cripps.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Wed 21 Aug 2024 6:57amHow did you rate Bont?CURLY wrote: ↑Tue 20 Aug 2024 9:22amI didn't mind Billings was huge on Cripps and Kolo though.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Tue 20 Aug 2024 7:53amYou didn’t rate Billings at #3?CURLY wrote: ↑Mon 19 Aug 2024 10:49pmSame blokes that rated Billing’s 3.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Mon 19 Aug 2024 9:11pmDidn’t Pou say something like “I hope Elija turns out to be a good player” to the Essendon recruitment team on draft night?

Re: Elijah Tsatas
Is it fair to say you didn't rate Bont at all for at least his first three seasons, and still had Billings in front of Bont as the better player?CURLY wrote: ↑Wed 21 Aug 2024 1:43pmBillingsD.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Wed 21 Aug 2024 1:38pmWho did you rate higher out of Bont and Billings?CURLY wrote: ↑Wed 21 Aug 2024 9:07amI liked him but at the time really didn’t have much info other than he was related to Dal Santo and he came with a late rush. Re: Elijah Tsatas
Ironically
It was Billings vs the Dogs (Bont) early in their career
When it was Billings who kicked 4 in the last quarter to win a game vs Dogs - coming back from 7 goals down!
Armo had 45 that night

Re: Elijah Tsatas
I had concerns with Billing’s when he started going to ground regularly in senior footy. Very early on there were alarm bells.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Wed 21 Aug 2024 4:06pmIs it fair to say you didn't rate Bont at all for at least his first three seasons, and still had Billings in front of Bont as the better player?CURLY wrote: ↑Wed 21 Aug 2024 1:43pmBillingsD.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Wed 21 Aug 2024 1:38pmWho did you rate higher out of Bont and Billings?CURLY wrote: ↑Wed 21 Aug 2024 9:07amI liked him but at the time really didn’t have much info other than he was related to Dal Santo and he came with a late rush. Re: Elijah Tsatas
5 of the first 19 draft picks in the 2013 draft ended up at St Kilda. Only 1 is still at the Saints.

Re: Elijah Tsatas
I think it was Mick McGuane in his newspaper column recently that also said Tsatas can't kick.
We need to steer clear of players with poor kicking skills, turnover merchants are a no no.
Will we pick up a player in the SSP window
