Elijah Tsatas
Reading that Tsatas wants out of Essendon.
No idea if it’s correct or not.
Anyone have info?
Just the sort of player that fits our game style.
Good runner, quick and good disposal.
A recruiter I know rates him very highly.
What would he cost given he was #5 two seasons ago and has been hampered by injury in his two years at AFL level?

Re: Elijah Tsatas
If he can't get a game at Essendon why would we want him? Also as someone else said why would we trade with Essendon? After the Lovett fiasco when Essendon people said what a good person he was - don't go anywhere near them!

Re: Elijah Tsatas
Didn’t Pou say something like “I hope Elija turns out to be a good player” to the Essendon recruitment team on draft night?
I’m sure that was reported somewhere, if true it’s gold.
I’ve personally never seen Tsatas play, but the recruiter I know rated him top 5 in his draft year and said he had very good disposal and running capacity.
Interesting that Cal Towmey had him at #5 and AFL at #8 in their mock drafts. Not bad for a kid who can’t kick.
I wonder what has gone wrong with Tsatas and Hobbs who were both highly rated juniors.

Re: Elijah Tsatas
He is 19 years old and had 41 disposals and a goal in the VFL on the weekend. Other games this year include 40, 38, 34, 34, 32, 31 disposals...D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Sun 18 Aug 2024 9:17am Reading that Tsatas wants out of Essendon.

We would not be complaining if we had a teenager doing that on our list. We could use a ball magnet!
Would be very happy to take him off the hands of Essendon (for the right price)

I loathe Essendon, but I don’t blame them for unloading Lovett for a first round pick, good luck to them.SaintJohn1956 wrote: ↑Mon 19 Aug 2024 8:07pm If he can't get a game at Essendon why would we want him? IMO the issue with Lovett was never bringing him in. In terms of player type, he was exactly what we needed.
Why we thought he was worth a first rounder is mind blowing…
Erratic player with a checkered history and a known, questionable work rate.
Was never worth more than a second and even that was a bit dubious
And that’s on us

Lovett plays in the 2010 GF we win.

But he didn’t and we were out a first round pick for it.
If you’re giving up a a first rounder, you’d want to trade it for less of a gamble. Obviously no one expected what happened to happen but he was a know &!ck#rad with a poor attitude and an erratic talent
Second round pick is what he was worth at best otherwise we should have just kept Xavier Clark

I’d have preferred a high risk, high reward for a lower cost
Cousins in 2009 would have been a better deal
Gardiner the year or two before was an even better one
