Anthony Caminiti

Post: # 2074642Post grime »

Did my eyes deceive me when Caminiti went off holding his hand just after Hill had been subbed last night the camera showed him being worked on by the medical crew then shortly after the camera came back again and Caminiti was in the process of giving one of the trainers a good shove, like he had just been told he was finished for the night? There certainly no comment from the Ch7 commentators?

LOL - no - the shove was an impact test - to ensure his shoulder would not pop out again.

In the presser, RTB said he will miss.

You know what that means?

Still runs to the wrong spots and gets in the way of other forwards.

I’d love to get a look at Keeler.

Caminiti actually got to the right spot a few times last night, but just didn't hold onto the mark, perhaps it was the 'perceived pressure'.

On a couple of other occasions the ball 'almost accidently' ended up in his arms.

I'm also keen to see Keeler, I do suspect he's a better 2nd ruck than Caminiti.

Love Caminiti he will be missed against the blues. He is great at ground level and has good intensity. Hope he recovers well.

Can't question Caminiti's intensity.

Probably needs to keep developing a better tank, he looked completely spent a few times last night and was too buggered to get to the right position.

Hope he's back fitter and stronger next year.

He's young, he's learning. I think he's going to be a gun.

On the basis of the VFL game today, neither Heath or Keeler are options to replace Caminiti.

In fact, basically all players in the VFL side today failed to press the opportunity. button.

So maybe Phillipou (recovered) for Caminiti (injured) is the only change.

Hopefully Hill is fit.

I was very disappointed in the performance of both Heath and Keeler today.

Still has a long way to go before we can even think about using the word "gun".
He has potential, but still has a lot of deficiencies to be successful in today's game. Would have made a great full forward 30 years ago.

I don’t think Moose will make it. Seems like a ruckman from a bygone era. A poor man’s Tom Campbell. Keeler has the potential but only time will tell whether he has the work ethic required.

That was a very nice “don’t argue” by Hammer. Made me do a double take, too.

I think it was a test of the shoulder.

He was holding his wrist but from what I could see (sitting next to the bench) he poped his shoulder.
They did try some overhead work to see if it was OK. However he knew immediately he was gone (the youngen next to me learnt some new words).

On the tv coverage you could see the moment his shoulder popped back in as he was walking off the field, so he probably felt pretty good after that.

Unfortunately it looks like Hammer will be in for a shoulder reconstruction in the near future. The positive is he will have time to do the rehab and be ready for the start of the season next year.

He has a bit of work to do on his forward craft, but gees he leaves everything out there doesnt he. A great kid and a great find by the club.

He was holding his wrist as a way to stop his whole arm moving - if you've ever popped a shoulder you'll know it doesn't tickle!

Cheers!

Couple of times Caminiti was so farked that that he couldn’t even compete

Twice he didn’t chase at all

And twice he didn’t compete in the air as he was spent

And at ground level he was fumbly and slow

He grabbed his wrist in a similar fashion against Richmond right after kicking a goal.

Perhaps Hayes or Campbell can come in.
