Re: Delistings/Retirements
Bonner has played every game apart from 1 due to injury
With some luck, the draw coming from where we are now, some astute Drafting adding to our Round 1 side aka the likes of Wanganeen-Milera Phillipou and Wilson and improvement among our youngsters I would expect a pleasing result in 2025, replicating 2023
What we miss is support for Marshall, King and Howard, so KPP players hence all of our recently drafted kids with the physical attributes are retained and further developed
The Coaches will know who is on the right trajectory and decisions will be led by this
The question will initially involve senior players and the value they add at VFL level assisting the learning and providing experience (so they are not blown off the park week in and week out
And note that Lyon wants quick players with skills, hence the opportunity given to Wilson this year
We will have to delist some and retire others
to allow for who we Draft and otherwise attract (where we are not currently in any media conversation
So relying on the Draft
Sides need structure and this will be a contributing factor
With the much commented on mid field, we do not have a “star” but we do have many contributors with potential, so the likes of Phillipou, Windhager, Owens, Henry et al
All with skills which leads to optimism
So questions such as Cordy v Van Es
And Ross versus our emerging youngsters
So investment in capable youth versus the break the glass in an emergency experience

Will the Cats game be the one we get a chance to thank JB?
Assumption: no announcement by now bodes a departure.

Re: Delistings/Retirements
Doesn't make any sense to trade Howard, particularly if Battle goes.
Why mess with the strongest part of our set up when Sinclair has already moved regularly to the midfield, NWM may move to a wing and Webster who has been a very underrated player may not go on next year, you can see Jimmy's lost a yard.
If you lose Battle & Howard I'd be extremely concerned.
I think Stocker slots into Websters role if he retires, Arie & Caminitti offer key and mid sized roles but I wouldn't want to replace both Howard and Battle with these two.
There's only one rule in the jungle! When the LYON's hungry, he eats!

Re: Delistings/Retirements
Nasiah will not go to the wing - he is far too valuable from HB - and I don’t think he has the aerobic
Hill, Wood, Byrnes, Wilson Henry etc will play wing

Re: Delistings/Retirements
There is no way Hill is going anywhere, he's just signed a 3 year contract!
Membrey has been our best forward for the past month, seems to have got his body right.
Jones has been great the last 3 weeks on limited game time, he's probably got himself another year if the last weeks are ok without injury.

Let's hope he gets the Rob Eddy treatment. In one day, then they come to their senses and boot him the next.

Riley B is a neat footballer, good kick in space but no world beater. Word association? Newnes.mad saint guy wrote: ↑Thu 08 Aug 2024 12:50pmLet's hope he gets the Rob Eddy treatment. In one day, then they come to their senses and boot him the next.
If none of Hastie, Arie or Mclennan can make him redundant it will reflect poorly.
