Re: Changes vs Richmond
Nah, we need to f*** all 3 of those off as well as Stocker
Ins;
Heath, Byrnes, Garcia and Clark
Play Marshall forward and give Moose a crack for the rest of the year.

Re: Changes vs Richmond
It’s not that I don’t like him, but he’s not a mid and he makes our pedestrian midfield look even slower.
I’d be happy for him to take Sinclair spot down back, but for some reason RTB doesn’t want Sinclair in there full time.

This is a must lose game.
We need every player who knows how to pretend to be trying while actually failing.
It is about the draft picks.
Times 2 if Josh Battle leaves.

Re: Changes vs Richm
Should not be hard to find players to drop on todays effort anyone but McLennan or Pou.
Would like to see Heath, Hotton, Hastie, Keeler and Ari in for the rest of the season should be very easy to find space for them

Re: Changes vs Richmond
Having another look. With our contested possession count so poor I'd be bringing Garcia in and adding one of Dow/Gus/Higgins to the outs.nostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Sun 04 Aug 2024 8:15pm In: Clark, Byrnes

Would like to see us blood Heath or Keeler but it seems like that's not happening this year.

Re: Changes vs Richmond
The Lions are very good, and we have been good in the weeks leading up to yesterday, but there's not a 13 goal difference between the teams so yesterday was not a few individuals who didn't have a go, it was a team failure and Lyon needs to wear that outcome. We should put the same team on the field next week and make them redeem themselves.

Re: Changes vs Richmond
Early sub always gets dropped so unless there are injuries probably Byrnes for Bonner.
We go from playing the premiers to the spooners so I'd write this one off and go with the side who took the Bombers apart. (.... But I'm also a fan of playing a professional tap ruckman so would love to get Campbell in to follow Nanc around the ground).

Re: Changes vs Richmond
The game started with us gifting them two goals from woeful turnovers. They then kicked straight and we missed two sitters. As Ross said before the game, if you let them have the ball they will win easily. And after the first quarter, they had the confidence to run off every opponent in the knowledge that they would get a pass straight to them. The loss of two players from last week's team, both of whom are pressure players, made a difference, but Brisbane probably would have been too good anyway, being at the top of their form. If both are fit, Byrnes and Clark need to come back for Bonner and Jones.

Re: Changes vs Richmond
Brisbane were awesome and we were very poor, but cant drop everyone.
Out : Bonner, McLennan
In Clark Byrnes
Bonner - i just don't get it as seems to butcher it so much but keeps getting called up. McLennan last in first out. Jones has been good last 3 weeks can't then drop after 1 poor one when everyone was poor IMO.

Re: Changes vs Richmond
It's pretty hard to single out the dumping of any player after Sunday's performance, however many of us supporters went into that match drinking our own bathwater, perhaps the players did as well - unless it was a team tanking effort.

Don’t understand the love for Jones. Has added nothing to the team. Was easily outrun on one occasion, on the wing, and pace is supposed to be one of his assets.

Re: Changes vs Richmond
How do you reckon Moose would go against Ro head to head.
I reckon Rowan would get a world record rating
Moose finishes dead last by a fair bit in running and Rowan is an endurance beast. Moose is a developing ruckman in the VFL and Ro is an A Grade ruckman in the AFL
Nah
I’d say keep Ro where he plays his best footy

Agree.
Clark adds so much for us in this area and I believe Dow does too. Only reason Dow wasn't also on my out list.

Re: Changes vs Richmond
Do we really want to win this one, let’s look to the future in ,Heath, Hotton, Hastie, Ari, Garcia and Keeler, out Jones, Higgins, Caminiti, Butler, Bonner and Webster. Could even look at Clark for Wood but he could be a good mentor for the younger players.

Re: Changes vs Richmond
I think we should still win with those ins, to be honest.
I would probably throw the sink at this game to make sure we have a good solid win and kick a good 19-20 goals score, because our last two games of the year are likely to be very difficult. If we can finish on 9 wins with a percentage >95 and finish 15th, and pick up a pure midfielder with that pick, two if Josh ends up leaving, I can live with that, but I wouldn't want to lose the last four matches of the year. That's a downer.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

Re: Changes vs Richmond
After we dropped a couple of games that we should have won early in the year, Lyon made a statement and dropped Seb Ross and Tim Membrey for the round 10 game against Freo.
I don't mind if we lose games in the short term if it proves a point and sets standards for the long term.
I think another statement needs to be made and Hill needs a kick in the bum.
Out: Hill, Bonner, McLennan
In: Byrnes, Clark, Arie
