Who will be top goal kicker against West Coast?
I think we'll kick 12-14 goals. Anything above that will be great for the fans.
Butler or Higgo will be our top goal kickers. One of the smalls to score 3.
Membrey and Michito 2 each. Sharman and Wood 1 each.
Would love to see Rowan and Nas and Sincs get goals

Would love it if Sharman could kick a bag of 4+.
Butler would be my prediction though.

With the side the Eagles have picked we should be aiming for 20 goals in this one.
Higgins - 5 goals.
Higgins - 5 goals.

If we don’t score at least 100 points against this outfit…..

100 points combined will be the total

Re: Who will be top goal kicker against West Coast?
15+ goals, 100 points for sure
I think Owens will turn it on today.
Hammer may get a run up forward.
Disappointed that Heath &/or Allison not playing.
Most goals ... Higgins !

Re: Who will be top goal kicker against West Coast?
Allison has quite a bit to work on from a team first mentality if what I saw at the VFL last week is any indication.
I'd suggest there's a reason we don't see him in the mix.
I fear that Keeler might be in the same mold.

I'm hoping my boy Coops gets on the end of a few.
I think Higgo could have a day out if he's on.
Buttler is due also.
But I'd really like Mwmbers to have a good game, the hoy needs it.

Not that I bet in it…
But this feels like the type of game where Owens could get 3 in the first quarter, 4 for the match and remind everyone of what he can do

Re: Who will be top goal kicker against West Coast?
The forward line worked really well against Sydney and so being back in our secure and roofed play ground it's possible Mitch puts in a good one.
I think he is another that has suffered as a result of the issues with Max not firing which transcended to our forward line as a whole.
I think if Members played like he did against the Swans he will provide some cover for the likes of Mitch, Members doesn't need to kick the goals, he just needs to contest the ball hard in the air and on the ground like he did against the Swans and that could create the opportunities for others like Mitch.
Weird to say it but our forward line looks freer without Max in it, not saying Max won't come back and be a massive contributor, just he hasn't been for a while and I feel it has impacted others around him.

Re: Who will be top goal kicker against West Coast?
Owens...avg disposals this year
11.4
His best numbers were (2024)
Pies 22 touches
Dees 18
Tigers 15
Suns+Giants 14
Average disp by venue,
Docklands is his highest at nearly 14
However...he's played there 25 times
5 games MCG
4 games Adelaide Oval
3 games Gabba
And all the rest 2s and singles.
Not a good sample spread.
You'd need to look at which oppo he faced under the roof and even then, whether King was playing on that day is important- as King's presence affects how much space Owens would get.
I don't expect Owens to get more than 10 touches but will be rapt if he plays like he did last year.
He's kicked 15.10 this year which appears not too bad until you think of the easy ones he misses

Re: Who will be top goal kicker against West Coast?
Butler's main goals seem to be out the back running onto a loose ball.
He got lots in the Covid year.
Has dried up since, a bit.
7 goals this yr from 10 games.
He seems to be more of a pressure fwd, locking the ball in and tapping it onto others, rather than getting within 45m of goal for his own shot.
I don't expect him to score more than 3 goals, if that, for the rest of the year.

Re: Who will be top goal kicker against West Coast?
Well, our leading goal kicker on the season is Higgins with 27 at 2 per game.
So, indeed, who is going to kick the goals?
We simply have no KPP forward with our best option Marshall going forward as circumstances dictate.

And the winner is Skunk with a bagfull
Well done to Wood with 3.4 (could have also got 5 with a bit of luck)
And good to see Butler back kicking a couple

Re: Who will be top goal kicker against West Coast?
Your boy Coops Did you like the long range set shot from outside the 50m line?
You're footy knowledge is improving. You're getting a few predictions right these days. You must have a bit more time on your hands. Knowledge comes from watching more games and listening to updates on players and teams.
The Collingwood call that they'd miss the top 8 is an interesting one. I'm not sure if it turned out exactly the way you said, but their injuries toll certainly means you got that one right

If you want to "learn" just do one of your forensic searches for some of my posts dating back to the weeks leading up to R1 on why I thought the Pies would not make the 8.Scollop wrote: ↑Sun 21 Jul 2024 11:49amYour boy Coops Did you like the long range set shot from outside the 50m line?

2 thirds of their flag players were over 30 in January and many well over, Murphy retiring was significant, just ask Moore, and then try and find your post bagging me when they had a run of wins and climbed back into the eight, then try and find my reply that suggested you should keep your powder dry or at least until the miserable cold part of winter is reached and see how that effects the Pies 30 something group of players.
Can you remember how much I put down on the Pies to miss the 8 and what odds I got them at? Also bet on them losing their first 3 games, the third to us...that was a big night...had some good coin on that result too...
My knowledge is stuff you can't learn at university, it's part science...part vibe.
Re: Who will be top goal kicker against West Coast?
Actually analytics and statistics are taught at University
And I would put brain before “vibe” everyday of the week
Our Fund Managers managing our superannuation accruals rely on analysis of data not “vibe”
As just one example
Collingwood are in the same position as some other sides, relying on ageing players in a young man’s game
Given St Kilda only have Hill in that category I have confidence in the projection for this side
Hopefully our kids improve to competition best levels and we add some more who will be on that trajectory
And that our senior core of Marshall, Sinclair, Wilkie, Steele and Howard remain fit and available (I include King among our kids)
