Its an odd thing sport...you can sledge soneone in todays sport culture but with boundaries.

Have a crack at a bloke's mrs/ms...no dramas; have a crack at a blokes mr/husband...big dramas.

Call a straight guy a c@cksucker, no dramas, call a gay guy a c@cksucker...big troubles.

I've heard unreal comments on field in every sport.

I've been called alot. I dont mind a 'black b@stard' or 2 my way as long as the giver is happy to receive a 'white c@nt' or 2 from me. End of game we shake hands and off we go, no hatred intended.

But there is a difference between that and racial villification. Everyone involved knows it.

My concern is that Lance learns when it comes go LGBQTI+ there is NO SLEDGING. None. Can't do it. Cant argue why or it isnt fair etc etc. Just do not. He will cop 6+ weeks I think. While it might seem very harsh to some, the AFL have clearly been ramping up the punishment over the the previous instances this year. Eventually it will be stamped out of the game and the game will be better for it

I would have hoped the club would have drummed anti homophobia, misogynist and racism into our players - but it appears to be an oversight. The club or supporters playing it down can cost the club respect and indeed memberships and create unnecessary distractions to the players.

It does seem harsh, but so far this year the first instance was a fine, the second 3 weeks, the third 5 weeks, so I imagine this is more than that, especially given that it was apparently multiple instances.

Given the clubs involvement in the pride game I wouldn't be surprised if the club comes out with additional sanctions if the AFL punishment seems soft.
