Sandy vs Williamstown

Post: # 2070163Post B.M »

Getting smacked

Dominated in the ruck, losing the clearances- shows you how useless that stat is

Best so far
Ross, Campbell, Allison, Hastie, Stocker, Heath, Keeler

The Sandy players are very ordinary

3/4 time 16 points down. Allison 4 goals. Collard doing better. Moose great.

Sandy missed 4 shots in a row for a total of 3 points.

Moose and Keeler are keepers. Gawd, Collard is quick. And can tackle.

We got within 10 points before Willy slammed on 3 goals. Half way through the last quarter and we're 27 points down

Williamstown 12-11
Sandringham 8-8

Sandy go down by 26 points after getting within 10 points with Campbell having a shot on goal.He missed of course. First time sandy has lost to this mob for 6 years. Pathetic.

Game over.
Final Score...
Williamstown 13-11-89 v Sandy 9-9-63
or
Williamstown 12-11-83 v Sandy 9-9-63

On screen i'm looking at conflicting scores for Williamstown, whichever one is correct, Williamstown won.

Big improvement from Collard. I think he may be a player. In a year or two.

Allison is a bit of an enigma. I don't know what to make of him. Maybe an excellent suburban footballer.

Did Allison do enough to earn a senior debut?
This is the second time he has kicked 5 goals for Sandy.
Could he replace Membrey?

Nice to see Hotton getting some ball… I had very high hopes for him.
Some people had Heath’s paper’s stamped but he seems to be making a strong case for another year or two. Seems close to get a taste for me IMO

Indeed.

Easily the first player cut 6 weeks ago… making a late play to keep his spot.

I wonder if it’s a case of another player that wasn’t particularly committed that all of a sudden realised his time was about to run out and stepped up.

Heck if I know

No.

Too selfish today. Totally burned Campbell who was alone in the goal square when Allison missed a shot on the run.

In fact, there were a few players with selfish attitudes today. Keeler was another one.

I was there today and Sandy don't play like a team...rather a set of indiduals trying to have the opportunity to "look good" for a senior game.
Willy were much more cohesive...That's why they won.

Precisely the reason why we need to end this stupid alignment.

Sounds like the seconds play just like the seniors

He knows what is required.
Team must lose for better draft picks.
Honourable loses have more value than wins for the next 6 games
Has had a good career so the club does not appear to be tanking by playing him.
Same with playing Membrey, time has passed him by.

Compared to the seconds, the senior team is the Harlem Globetrotters.

You’d want to hope so

The 23rd best player in the seniors is theoretically meant to be better than the best player in the twos

Don’t go to the VFL and expect AFL standard footy

I assume you're talking about skills? I am talking about being a team.
Our skills were generally better than Willy's, but their cohesion as a team far surpassed ours.
That's why we fail!

I’m talking about standard. How did you judge cohesion

How did you find the cohesion in the seniors?

We generally move the ball from defence to half foward very well. I think the AFL rankings reflect that. Where the seniors fall down is that delivery inside 50.
Sandy were just poor at the ball movement all day.
With the exception of one coast-to-coast goal in the last quarter.

Thanks for the history lesson
Not sure how the margin is relevant.
Sandy never really threatened Willy and I think the margin flattered them.

Every week - mainly due to StK requirements they have multiple changes. They have a lot of inexperienced players.
