Simpson may coach his last game in round 18 with a new coach taking the reins for round 19. Which is of course against the Saints.

Even if he leaves now, we will still be in the honeymoon period of a new coach.

Re: Of course that was always going to happen
Well, he's gone now officially.
Don Pyke (CEO i think) said Simmo might coach this week, to which Simmo replied 'geez, Don, we haven't really decided that yet, hey'
So how does that affect our game in 2 weeks?
For those who wanna say 'a club that's just sacked its coach usually wins the next game'
NOPE since 2012, clubs that cut a coach are 5-7 in the next game.
5 wins
7 losses
That's not 'usually'
Why don't you google an article in SEN's website from 2 yrs ago after David Noble got da chop from Norf.
'The Win-Loss Stats after a coach departs a club'
I don't know how to link the article

Anyway, surely WCE's priority now is to get #1 pick. Nothing else to go for with a disposable temporary coach, Reid locked away and a bolted on fan base. Might have to settle for #2; they get another v North game but not another Tigers game and not sure who Richmond can win against for the rest of the year.

You would think they're going to reshuffle the deckchairs next season regardless
Why not get a premiership coach in there to help Ross , or we could just do nothing

Apparently Simpson is going to toss the coin, wave to the crowd and then ride off into the football sunset for awhile.
Six debutants for the Saints so far in Season 2024.
