Where was the outrage???

Post: # 2069953Post CURLY »

Always going to happen a star player from an AFL love child club was going to be suspended for nothing more than a free kick under the new rules. We now have all the media and experts demanding he be cleared and that it shouldn't cost him a Brownlow.

Where was the outrage when Max King was suspended or Paddy Ryder the other season?

These biased morons may have an audience with the remainder of the clubs supporters if they jumped on and helped get other clubs players off not just the favouries.

This sort of backlash you can see why umpires show biased to the love child AFL teams.

There is a reason media organisations are in serial decline confirmed by the retrenchments across those media organisations, retrenchments which will continue until there is nothing left with the day of reckoning finally arriving for the Phoenix (so 2 failed Companies joining together) 9 Entertainment, 7West funded by Stokes, Murdoch and 10, now in the ownership of a former Trade Creditor and all of whom see themselves as influencers not reporters.

The way forward is such as The Guardian and for the reasons it heralds on its Website.

And PBS in the USA.

So community reporting to the benefit of community.

And just to add, in a Country such as Australia there are legal processes and Sydney FC (along with ALL of us) have recourse under those legal processes all the way to the High Court of Australia.

It is not what Sydney are doing

It is the influencers in the media promoting a decision for the judiciary.

If its the same show, they were suggesting the Brownlow criteria be changed to take away the fairness requirement. Well why not suggest the Brownlow be kept as is and a separate award be given for most votes regardless of how fairly the game is played by an individual, or apply an algorithm, based on coaches votes, to the voting to take into account players umps just don't like. Take it further, an award for a player getting votes in most # of games rather than highest aggregate - i.e. consistency. These silly clickbait type discussions, probably producer driven, seriously undermine programs quality, sparse as they already are. Same people would say Collingwood v Essendon on Anzac Day is a tradition now and tradition should not be tampered with.

Seems our club has a history of rolling over and playing dead rather than challenge any tribunal decisions.

How many times calling the game did BT say Heeny was "half sorry" "gave him a sorry"...rubbish bias

According to BT this was said in the tackle
Heeney: Sorry your face landed on my hand and sorry you got blood on me knuckles...BUT I'm half sorry and half get fücked...sorry mate

Well I was glad Heeney got a week as it was well deserved - we have been told over and over that there is no excuses for hitting another player in the face and yet so many people (including the AFL) are always trying to make excuses for their favorites.

However, at the time I was pissed off that one of the umpires didn't ping him with a free kick to Jimmy + 50 metres. What a load of crap the whole affair was with the media shock-jocks carrying on like port chops ... and almost blaming Jimmy for being within hitting distance of his arm.

Was very surprised Heeney got a week.
Was concerned about Webster getting a week for injuring Heeney hand.
