Windhager

Post: # 2069550Post SAINT-LEE »

Firstly, where is he best placed? As much as I groove on RTB, what the hell is he doing puting this guy at HB???

My thoughts are: tagging roles at times( he's pure gold) and midfield ( used wisely, he may produce more games like his work midfield work vs Pies) but no more HB bs.

Secondly, will he return in 2024?
I'm reading 4+ weeks and then heard 6 weeks.

Did he show RTB he's best in def or mid? I hope he gets a solid midfield run but so far no luck. I thought with Crouch out we'd see Windhager slot in but nah

6 weeks is the prognosis. That pretty much ends his season. Pity, I think he's developed at a steady rate and is one of our most promising youngsters.

Bring on 2025!

I don’t mind him missing the rest of the reason with this.

Let the hamstring properly heal. Many other games across the world hamstring is a minimum of 6 weeks even with lower grade strains/tears. They’re very big on prevention/recovery rather than management… and those are games like soccer, basketball etc that don’t have the sheer volume of running including explosive acceleration that AFL does.

Agree with the sentiments of the OP too.

Time for Windy to be a permanent mid, not a flanker. Let him tag and win the ball in his own style. Clearly what he is best at

Clearly a mid, lost at HB and it doesn’t play to his strengths

Hopefully saints don't rush him back. Should get his hamstrings right. Then massive preseason.
Needs to be the inside mid we are crying put for.

Windy has developed nicely.

Credit to him and the coaches.

Time at half back and time tagging are educational. Ross himself has said that Windy sometimes benefits from having an opponent or task aa a reference point.

Long term he will be an out an out midfielder.
