How about doing some research before you shoot off your traps with rubbish opinions...
Luke Darcy loves to copy what other people say. Garry Lyon on Foxfooty and a few other mouthpieces have rabbited on about Gryan Miers with his goals and especially his goal assists.
Luke Darcy reckons it'd be hard to find another player with that type of 'impact'. What a d**khead
If you add goals and goal assists between the following 2 players, one has 1.9 total and the other has only 1.7 ...Gryan is the guy on 1.7
Yesterday on Friday night footy, BT said with 4 minutes to go on the clock, that Melbourne were looking like they were going to hang on and win against Brisbane.
The margin at this point was only 7 points. Less than 30 seconds later, Brisbane through Kai Lohmann kicked a goal and the margin was 1 point with some time for scoring opportunities.
Brisbane had a few more entries and Ashcroft got a point, which meant scores were now equal on 80 points. There was still 2 minutes to play.
Brian Taylor was now rabbitting on about how many draws we've had in the AFL this year. So firstly he's calling it a victory for Melbourne, then 2 minutes later, he's gone the early crow on a draw!!
"I think we're going to have a draw Richo"
McCluggage then gets the goal which put Brisvegas exactly 1 goal up. Less than a minute left on the clock and Brisbane up by 6 pts, Melbourne got an inside 50 and Bayley Fritsch had a chance to goal
Brian got excited again..."Fritsch with a chance to win it for Melbourne"
Luke Darcy specifically mentioned goals and goal assists for Gryan Miers from 2022 up to now
From round 1 2022 up to now Higgins has better figures. He absolutely destroys Miers for the 2022 year (Geelong's premiership winning year) and also leaves him in his wake for the current season.
Miers during the current year is getting more disposals, but Higgins matches him for contested possessions. Higgins is having close to the same score involvements too.
But again...Goals per game+ goal assists per game add up to 3.1 for Snags
Goals per game+ goal assists per game this year for Miers add up to 1.9.
What nonsense. Miers is a significantly better player than Higgins. In the incredibly unlikely event that there was a possibility of swapping the two, 99.9% of posters on here would be in favour of it. Most would probably be prepared to throw in a draft pick too.

Miers can't kick very far. His main claim to fame was hitting up Hawkins who had to have 30 metre or less passes put on a plate because he'd lost mobility. Higgins a far better footballer/forward.
Most commentators are just trying to portray that they have super intelligence/knowledge which must be mindset formed during their superhero status from their playing days and the ongoing pats on each others back. I usually just ignore the ignorance that emerges from the Kayo commentators or try out the SEN/Kayo sync, although I generally don't bother as it's definitely no guarantee that other options are any better. It's the nature of the beast.

I watch with the sound down and put on some soft classic easy listening music.
If watching St Kilda do you put on the Benny Hill music instead?
I normally reserve playing the Benny Hill music for the times when our club self implodes and eats it's self by sacking another coach to create a distraction to a much bigger problem that someone at the administration level doesn't want to take accountability for.

Whether Miers or Higgins is a better player is not the point.
Darcy looked up 2 stats on one layer and gave us figures for that player…AND then he backed up those figures with a comment which was factually incorrect.
Darcy didn’t bother checking on ALL players. He simply copied what someone said about Miers in the last 12 months and he added mayo and bbq sauce…or should I bullshyte sauce

Where did the OP say that Darcy looked up statistics? Anyway, I don't care all that much about the stats. I base my assessment on what I see. Every time Miers gets the ball in his hands around 70-40 metres out from goal, he is a significant threat. Higgins can do some good stuff too, but he hardly provides the sort of threat that Miers does.
It's not entirely Higgins's fault: Miers is almost 100% a playmaker, while Higgins is part playmaker, part small forward. Geelong has an excellent specialist small forward in Stengle, leaving Miers free to work his magic. He's truly wonderful to watch IMO.

The op is about channel 7 commentators. Not about the players
I understand where you're coming from, and we can talk about overall player profile and strengths and weaknesses...but I wasn't doing that was I?
You obviously didn't listen to the call by Darcy. I was simply commenting on his incorrect call regarding what he said.
I followed up with a supplementary post where I quoted the stats that Darcy was focused on - i.e. goals plus goal assists.
