Rowan Marshall is unhappy?
Well, according to gutter journalist and chair-sniffer, Tom Morris, he is. Not sure how Morris figured that out, given Big Ro just about always has a smile on his face.
It sounds like absolute BS to me, but perhaps someone here can shed some light on the matter all the same?

Re: Rowan Marshall is unhappy?
Term used was "unsettled ".
124 games.
AA
Leadership Group.
Undisputed first ruck and best player in the Club.
Performing very well.
Multi year contract.
Sure, that would be unsettling.
Lot of tosh?

Re: Rowan Marshall is unhappy?
Club sliding down the ladder.
Looking very unlikely that we will be challenging within the next few years.
He may be sick of reading in the press and online how we play boring defensive football.
He signed the long-term deal when we appeared to be on the way up, now we appear to be heading in the opposite direction.
Many reasons he could be unsettled and unless you are a personal friend you know no more than anyone else what is going on in his head.

Was it true Gresh was his best mate? Maybe he has been put off by Gresh being traded?
I don't watch all the clubs promo material, but I don't recall seeing him in any videos recently, so maybe he isn't super bought in? I might just have missed him though

Who's chair was Tom Morris sniffing. Was it Craig Hutchinson's?Sainternist wrote: ↑Tue 25 Jun 2024 10:50pm Well, according to gutter journalist and chair-sniffer, Tom Morris, he is. Not sure how Morris figured that out, given Big Ro just about always has a smile on his face.

That would explain a lot of things especially the smirk on his face.

We don't speak often but I feel I know him, perhaps it's the cheering him on for over 100 games, seeing him play so often.SinCitySainter wrote: ↑Wed 26 Jun 2024 10:49amClub sliding down the ladder.

If anyone can predict what side is going to be regularly successful and is willing to trade for Rowan and will give at least as much as us in salary and let him be sole ruck, well good luck.
How do you know Rowan reads the press and cares what is said about the Saints. He is in the heart of the place. Doesn't need the "press" to let him know what's going on.
If your logic was correct no team outside the 8 or on a slide would have any good players, and that's obviously not true.

Re: Rowan Marshall is unhappy?
Of course Rowan isn't happy. He always looks miserable out on the field especially when he kicks a goal.

Actually, when you think about it he is the happiest looking player out there most of the timemagnifisaint wrote: ↑Wed 26 Jun 2024 7:29pm Of course Rowan isn't happy. He always looks miserable out on the field especially when he kicks a goal.

Re: Rowan Marshall is unhappy?
RoMa's kicked a massive total of....2 goals for this year. One against Richmond. One against North Melbourne.
I think he's such an inspiration to his team mates, and especially when he's a goal scorer... problem is...we don't have 3 Rowan Marshalls. He can't be a chop out in defence, our number 1 ruck Plus a key forward target

Re: Rowan Marshall is unhappy?
Well, I happen to be of the opinion that he would excel as a key forward, also covering the field at his discretion so getting up the ground.
In the Ryder class maybe not, but Ryder was an exceptional athlete and footballer with Marshall not far behind.
And I would venture that Marshall is the elite footballer on our List.
In terms of St Kilda's future, it revolves around Higgins, Windhager, Wanganeen-Milera, Owens, Clark, Byrnes, Keeler, Wilson, Henry, Phillipou, Battle, Schoenmaker and Caminiti along with other kids we currently do not know much about (Keeler included because of what he offers given his height and athleticism).
I would imagine that Marshall is engaged with this group and as a leader.
So the building blocks are there.
It just takes time - much the same as inflation which manifests over a period of time then takes a further period of time to address and correct for the well being of all. It does not just appear then disappear.
So you build a side, then add and add again.
No doubt the recruiting of another Henry will assist and boost morale.

Re: Rowan Marshall is unhappy?
Apparently the Sun are reporting that they’ve essentially spoken to him and he’s reported that he’s very happy at the club and shut down talks ofmoving.
They’re also reporting that we’re interested in both LDU and Brayshaw. Now that would be a coup

Well that settles it then.
He’s obviously going as why would you believe the player over a reporter?

I hate to be precious, but the term, "gutter journalist", is a tautology.

Re: Rowan Marshall is unhappy?
Well Ross just pulled that s*** apart - and returned fire to Tom Morris
Who, like all those rubbish young AFL journalists they try to make the news stories- rather than report on them.
As I said, we played cricket against him last season - flog
