Compare footy to swimming. In that sport, the standards of each gender are comparable and there really is no obvious difference apart from the respective times.
Tennis- the women play fewer sets to win, but again the excitement factor in each are awesome- in fact the women are arguably better as the men have 200+kmh serves that reduce the number of entertaining rallies.
I'm sure Jack Higgins' goal vs the Filth won't get a look in at the awards, as our club is the runt of the litter.

MIlne never won Goal of the Year. In fact, I don't think he ws ever nominated. These things are heavily compromised and best iognored.
