Even if we do get beaten, the guys will have enjoyed some nice warm weather up there.

And that's what makes us a great and powerful club, 👍

I wonder...
Was Nas going to be used as a tagger or in his usual role?

Who, either in the team or included this week takes his role as:

Tagger -
Defense/wing -

I reckon we can perhaps still win it, or at least put up a strong performance.

Notwithstanding their good win over the somewhat inconsistent Bulldogs, Brisbane have to some extent lost their mojo this season.

Schoenmaker strikes me as being one of those young players who could make a big impact on debut, and that will to some extent make up for the loss of NWM. I'm pretty concerned about who will play on Cameron, and am also less than excited about seeing Sharman come back into the team, but I guess that, once they decided to drop Membrey, there weren't too many other obvious replacements.

I'm a little concerned about NWM going through family issues. In my experience of Indigenous families, these can go on for a long time and can put pressure on offspring to return to the family home.

I don't think it's respectful of you to be commenting or to speculate on Nas or on his family or to generalise and to turn this into a race related 'problem'

What difference does it make if Nas is indigenous or not? Tim Membrey and Seb Ross did it. Many other footballers have missed games recently and in the past because of family.

He is an adult who has been making personal decisions on his own and living independently away from his immediate family. I trust him to make wise decisions as a person... regardless of his indigenous culture.

All families have illness or other personal issues. All people regardless of race have to decide from time to time to prioritise family.

Yes, I’ll accept that criticism: I know nothing about his particular family circumstances.

I wasn’t in any way wanting to denigrate his race or culture. It’s just that Indigenous people I have known have told me that serious family issues can draw them away for long periods from their work and other normal activities, and were expressing this in terms of it sometimes causing them problems. But, as I said, I have no idea about NWM’s personal circumstances and certainly wish him and his family the very best.

Neither respectful or disrespectful

It is a reasonable comment

Indigenous Australians have close bonds with their family and home land

many suffer greatly from home sickness and struggle interstate, particularly if there is a family illness, death or some other issue.

Home sickness is certainly not just an indigenous issue, but statistically speaking, I would say there is a significant correlation there.

Surprised about Jones. Obviously didn’t want to go interstate too young.

Crouch is cooked I reckon

Jones, Sharman, Ross or Wilson
Probably Zak

Where's the data on that? ...statistically speaking my arse

Is that why Cyril retired early and left Hawthorn?

What's the point of your post except to argue for the sake of it? You haven't made any specific point relevant to Nasiah

The generalisation you're alluding to 'could' be true for anyone... no matter who they are or whether they have indigenous blood or not.

meher baba respectfully understands that he didn't need to bring Nas's culture or make generalisations on indigenous people into it. As Allan Jeans would say ...Why don't you just leave it at that!

Nonsense. He's the perennial backup in case Marshall gets injured. So he could conceivably play any of the remaining games of the season.

Sharman needs to be played ahead of Jones.

Ok. Fair enough

But they're not actually waiting for Ro to get injured.

They've decided to play him tonight. It's actually a good move and should have probably been done several times over the last 20 or so home and away games
