No magnifisaint, a McLuggage is part of a new "loose change" meal deal at Ronald M's emporium of excellent food.

I would pass on McLuggage. Like the meal, hot and cold, and leaves you unsatisfied with a greasy aftertaste, tainted by disappointment. Next!

Yorkeys wins the interwebs for this week for the correct use of the word focii, the plural of focus.

Foci, not focuses is correct because it comes from the latin focus which means hearth or fireplace, and foci would be the Latin plural.

Small quibble about the superfluous i on the end, but still full marks. You can all thank me later. Cheers.

The saints are shite for most of their history, even the best spin doctor couldn't alter that, it'll have to be security for the player that tempts them to accept a trade. Good luck to the List management group, it's like pissing up a downpipe.

Season 2024 is where RTB is showing the footy world his grasp of the modern game.

Sorry, but this comparison is ludicrous.
Dow is somewhere between being far too good for the VFL and being a c grade AFL midfielder with questionable foot skills.

McLuggage has been top 3 in the B&F of a top 4 team for the last 5 seasons and has made the AA squad (not the team) I think 5 times.

McLuggage is not elite, but he’s A grade season after consistent season and is also durable.

Dow isn’t close to the same class and is seriously overrated on this forum. I’m still waiting to see that breakaway pace from the stoppages that he seemed to acquire when he transferred clubs.

Dow is best 22 at saints, but only because our midfield is close to the worst in the competition.

I notice Chris Faygun whining again like a little biatch.

He specifically mentioned us and the long term contract offers we were making to players.

Hopefully we tear them a brand new one on Friday so we can hear some more of his bile but unfortunately SFA chance of that happening.

Good competitor, hard nosed but I don't think he has it for athleticism and running capacity to be an AFL ruck.
Heath will only make it as an AFL ruckman after St Kilda delist him.

If you were a forward StK is the last club you’d go to

In fact right now StK would be the least desirable club in the AFL

Rival clubs reportedly think they can pry Tyson Stengle out of Geelong on a big-money deal.

The Herald Sun’s Scott Gullan reports Stengle, a free agent at season’s end, could receive offers worth $800,000 plus from rival clubs, with St Kilda and Essendon touted as suitors.

The Cats meanwhile are believed to only be able to table a deal worth around $600,000 per season, meaning the 2022 All-Australian could potentially be leaving up to $200,000 on the table to remain at Geelong.

“Rival clubs believe they can get him. There’s offers being floated as $800,000, maybe more, to get him out of the Cattery,” Gullan said on Fox Footy’s The Midweek Tackle.

“He’s 25 and looking for the big lifetime deal ... he’s a bit restless down at Cat land.

“Essendon and St Kilda (are circling him) and there’s a few other clubs watching from a distance.

“The issue is Geelong isn’t going to be able to get near $800,000, they might get to $600,000, it might be $150,000 or $200,000 per year deal he could have to make a decision on.”

Gullan believes comments last month from Stengle’s guardian, Annie Scullie, the wife of Eddie Betts and acting manager of the Cats small forward, that Geelong “is quite isolating” further signals he’s “a bit restless” in the regional city.

Scullie is representing Stengle in talks in a unique management setup, having negotiated a one-year extension for the 25-year old last year.

It’s believed the relaxed, country vibe of Geelong isn’t as appealing to Stengle, who despite only playing one season with Betts at Adelaide, spends several night’s a week at the family’s Melbourne home.

“Lifestyle concerns, maybe he wants to live closer to the city,” fellow Herald Sun reporter Jay Clark said on the Midweek Tackle.

“Remember he went from Richmond to Adelaide on rookie wages and had a low salary first up at Geelong.

“If he’s getting $800,000, that’s a lifetime deal. he’s got to take that money if it’s on the table from St Kilda and Essendon.”

He's a small forward. He's also had off field issues in the past. I'd pay that money for Shai Bolton, but Stenglein is worth absolutely no more than what Geelong is willing to pay him. We'd be out of our minds to offer that kind of money

That’s gotta be a joke

He’s not worth anywhere near 800k

We need to spend money on Mids!!!!

Thought that would be pretty obvious

If Stengle can kick with his non preferred he's an upgrade on Higgins playing deep forward.

He's worth the money in my book. Higgins can impact up the ground as a high half forward and Stengle can stay closer to goal.

We have to try and bring in A grade quality and he's still quite young.

It pains me to say it but ..yes …correct
Morons look at a player and go “WTF he’s not worth that” (they didn’t say that when we paid Gresham 800k and Stengel an upgrade on him imo - he’s AA FFS)
That aside, you pay a premium to prize them out if their club - just like Hawks will have to do to get Battle (and trigger band 1 if so..)

Yes... but you can take it too far.

Going to be a bit of a balancing act to try and bring in an A grader and try and retain a guy like Batts.

I think if we lose Josh Battle it rips a little hole in the fabric. I don't envy our list management

I want us to keep the core of our young players happy and to retain our good young players. If they can retain Batts and also bring in Stengle that's the perfect scenario for me

Investing a bunch of money in a small forward should be far down the list of priorities.
