Jones possibly
Skunk out is great, he needs to get himself right if he's struggling.
NAS is a shock. managed?
Lions' emergencies include Darragh Joyce believe it or not

Re: Team v Lions
Half our backline wiped out. Wanganeen-Milera is equally our most important player. Sinclair will have to stay in the back half if we're to have any chance in this game.
If we get within 2 goals, we'll have done well.

Not great news about Nas, hope everything turns out ok
Surprised about Jones. Obviously didn’t want to go interstate too young.
Crouch is cooked I reckon
Sub
Jones, Sharman, Ross or Wilson
Probably Zak

Re: Team v Lions
Howard, Membrey and Webster no big loss, Cordy and Sharman are equal or better replacements.
NWM is a huge loss, hopefully Arie is given some licence to use his big leg to set up some attacking plays.
Jones sub IMO

Shyte coaching

Poor Lyon

Re: Team v Lions
From the read on Sandringham form both Jones and Sharman were deserving of promotion
Both were significant contributors to the recovery to draw the match
The losses of Howard and Wanganeen-Milera will hurt - yes, I am one who does not subscribe to the descriptions of Howard on here I view him as a vital player in our back half including because of his disposal skills
Cordy is the back up for Howard so gets another opportunity because Howard is again injured
My knock on Webster has always been not keeping his feet plus, whilst his left foot disposal looks great it is rarely offensively lethal
The problem really to my mind is that we lack a “small” lockdown defender with only Paton the alternative noting the description of Paton’s game at Sandringham so things to work on
All in all as much as we could do given the absences including that Membrey did not make the most of his recall hence Sharman on VFL impact (and Sharman has some versatility in case of need)
The sub?
To me Ross again (noting the reports that Crouch has a knee issue so we trust he gets over that because he is a required player)
Because Crouch available, Ross out

And all that said, it will be interesting to see who lines up at Sandringham (Keeler particularly because I think he has something apart)

Re: Team v Lions
Looking forward to seeing Arie play at the level.
Hopefully Sharman can have one of those ok performances he has every 20 or so matches .
Howard Naz and Jimmie out is significant.
This could get ugly.

Re: Team v Lions
My cousin claimed thursday morning at 6am he saw Nas at the Avalon airport boarding a smaller plane ( unsure which one or size he didnt say).
I scoffed because of the Brisbane game and why would he fly out of Avalon? But maybe he's right?

Re: Team v Lions
We’ll see tonight, I agree Membrey and Howard are no loss but who’s going to lock down on Cameron?
It’s usually Webster’s job, so who gets it tonight?

Re: Team v Lions
Mitch Thorp senior coach for Launceston FC was on Tassy SEN this morning and talking up young Arie. I live over 4000 klms away from Tassy but due to the necessity to dodge Tim Gossage on SEN WA and not having the option of choosing the Melbourne broadcast in that time slot I was lucky enough to pick up Tassy on my App.

Re: Team v Lions
Im not too fussed about tonight or the season in terms of win vs loss.
Im keen though to see continued player development and RTB game plan emerge clearly and be executed well.
Its not a 1 or 2 season endeavour, it could be 3 or 4 seasons before we are able to contend for top 4 and the Granny.
Im confident many will squeal after Brisbane finds their form off us and flog us within an inch of our lives. I fully expect a 50pt+ beat down. Mainly due to midifeld structures but not all our woes are there.
Still if I see effort and resilience in the face of defeat Ill be pleased (as much as we can in loss).
Go Sainters!

Re: Team v Lions
Agree about Arie but Howard missing from the backline is a big loss in the overall circumstances.

Re: Team v Lions
We gonna get a pumping me thinks
NAS a massive out and Webster just adds to the HB pain!
You never know - backs to the wall stuff and Bris overly confident following their big win? But I’m clasping! We look underage, under skilled and underbaked!
