Don’t back track, just say you didn’t mean it and meant to say
Maybe it’s contributed
You are actually arguing but not stating the factual commentary
Lucky I don’t use the quote button eh?!
Then you make some personal insults because you know what you said.

No - we just didn’t take him - could’ve had him for free pre season if i remember correctly- he was kicking arse for Sandy - but we didn’t take him
During about a decade of drafting trying to be too smart and ignoring some of the simple and the obvious choices
Trade guys probably trying to prove their worth by not doing the obvious - unfortunately often the obvious is obviously the right thing to do

My point is that neither of the King's (and others) have the support of a 2nd tall - who is effective - that the teams competing for a spot in the 8.
But here you go - have a million of my Internet Points - don't spend them all at one place

Re: Two Prong Attacks?
A gun midfield is much more important than a "two prong attack".
A gun midfield makes an average defense and offence so much better. Like someone said earlier, Pies won with no gun forward. The Dees won with Ben Brown. Geelong had a dynasty with an elite midfield making guys like Hawkins, Podsiadly (sp?), N Ablett and Mooney look great.
ALL our effort should be put into upgrading the midfield.

Prioritise, sure, but the other areas can't be ignored. Need more height and strength down back.The_Dud wrote: ↑Tue 11 Jun 2024 11:42am A gun midfield is much more important than a "two prong attack".

If we had Mac Andrew and Touk Miller we would be in the top 4.

Re: Two Prong Attacks?
Not if your forwards can't lead or don't lead often enough
Not if your forwards can't kick straight
Not when they fumble ground balls, or they can't make good decisions or they waste shots on goal from too far out or from ridiculous angles.

And we e actually seen in last 2 games what semi respectable break even type midfield can do for our side …
Just imagine that defence and front half operating with a genuine V12 midfield engine driving it??
A gun (or 2) breakaway ball winning mid who can also score and leave congestion behind quickly ??
No more 1 paced pig ball winners please
We need an explosive, dynamic mid or 2 fast
“Yeah….nah””

Re: Two Prong Attacks?
Our 2 prong attack was cold and impotent early in the game
Theirs was
They also have a weapon who doubles sometimes as their 3rd tall and sometimes he goes into the centre or attends stoppages.
Cam Rayner could have kicked 3 or 4 tonight but he was also damaging at centre bounce.
Our Cam Rayner is Mitch Owens. He should be helping our mids but he's our bull who competes and wins contests in the forward line. He kicked our first 2 goals and he was our lone goal scorer in the 1st quarter.
Foxfooty had clearances stats sometime late in the second quarter and we had 13-1:in our favour but we were down by 4 or 5 goals for the majority of that first half.
I think the Saints coaches tool too long to mix things up at centre bounce
Rayner attended centre bounce 6 times. Owens zero.
