Around the world with the Lions

In the week leading up to our match against the Lions, I am just going to post the Saints travels to face their merger partners, the ever-popular nomadic Fitzroy globetrotters.

Me too.

I saw myself in the crowd.

It was a great win. A very high scoring and entertaining game.

Yes, I remember Grant Thomas having a good game, kicked a goal from close to the centre, with a torpedo on the run!

I had high hopes that we were going somewhere under Tony Jewell after that game, our third win in a row. Alas, I was completely off the mark.

As was I. Max Crow was really good, wasn't he? A true professional. I think the reason I like posting these videos of us against the Royboys is that two of my favourite wins in the 1980s were against them. This one and the 1985 match against them at Vic Park. Lockett was great in that one as was Greg McAdam, I remember.

Barks had a good game.

Joffa Cunningham was in career best form. I think he struck 3-4 exceptional BOGs together.

Saw a post where someone was complaining that the Lions had been given the benefit of two byes so far this season while another club, not the Saints, wouldn't have a bye for another two weeks.

Saints are in the same boat, but who gives a s***.
