To clarify, absent the thumping by WB, St Kilda’s percentage would be close to the 100% mark (also)
The question is when was the last time, at the half way point in a season, 13 of the 18 sides had a percentage of over 100
In fact St Kilda having a percentage of 92 further compromises any chance St Kilda have of mounting a late charge to finals participation
But along comes guess who?
With a well established anti St Kilda and anti Ross Lyon bent, highjacking yet another thread on this site
A sensible response, in my opinion, would be that the competition is that even with any side capable of beating any other side on a particular day - and that includes WCE playing in Perth
The other fact is home games and the advantage of home games (noting Alice Springs was a Melbourne home game)
A position in the 8 looks and, indeed positions in the 8, look like coming down to percentage
Our next match, v Gold Coast in Melbourne will be most interesting, Gold Coast travelling
Back on the turps, crumbed scallops?

I did a little research and found that this was the first occurrence in an 18 team league.
At the conclusion of round 12 last year, 12 teams had a percentage of over 100 (ours was 116.5) and right below the 100 mark was Richmond, with 99.2 and Carlton with 95.1.
In the 2022 season, it was also 12 clubs over 100% at the conclusion of round 12. Even more surprisingly, 9 of them had over 110%.
Here's a little chart going further back:

**2018 had 4 teams over 130% at this point!
***Our most recent spoon. We had 62.1% after round 12 and finished with 60.8%. Dark times.
Additional fun fact: In 2017 Sydney were 14th at the conclusion of round 12, with only 4 wins, but a % of 105.

I would have thought it would have been more unusual than that - and there would have been a cohort of low percentages hence the higher percentages of some
And I think that the Premiership table currently reflects who and where sides have played (so the draw)
How that corrects over the remainder of the season will be of interest - noting the impact on the draw for next season
There are some established sides such as Geelong, Brisbane, Melbourne and even Collingwood which appear in decline (and with ageing lists)
