Will Wilkie’s run of continuous games be ended?.
Wilkie was really inconvenienced with his elbow (?) injury. He was injured in the third quarter. He was in considerable pain with it. Ran around with his arm hanging limply by his side for the rest of the quarter. Though it didn’t stop him going for marks.
It was taped up at three quarter time. Although at every opportunity I notice he was letting his arm hang down by his side.
It actually looked very similar to the way Pendelbury was carrying his injured arm in the Collingwood game the other night. I think Pendles is now out for weeks with his injury.
I hope I’m just being a ‘worry wart’ and Wilkie’s is just a wrench/strain of the arm/elbow and he’s ok for next week.

Loris - I understand your concern - but if he is to be out for a week to then begin another string of uninterrupted games then so be it - it is better than him being sub par when we need him the most.loris wrote: ↑Sun 02 Jun 2024 6:30pm Wilkie was really inconvenienced with his elbow (?) injury. Seemed to be troubled by it for about 3 minutes.
I’m calling it a stinger and saying he’ll be fine for next week, but I’ve got no idea.

Does Wilkie have the club record for most consecutive games played?
It’s crazy to think that he’s only half way to equaling Jim Stynes’ record.

Isn’t a stinger when it’s a shoulder? This was his elbow that was injured.
Can’t recall the actual stage it was hurt in the third quarter. But he was definitely hampered by it for quite some time, not just a few minutes.
Then at 3/4 time I noticed the elbow area had been taped & he was still very tentative and grimaced when he went for a mark.
The arm was hanging loosely by his side for the whole of the final quarter, unless he went near to the ball. On the bright side he did take a few saves after he injured it

I saw him go for a spoil on the wing, like you said.
His arm gave him lots of trouble afterwards.
He looked in a lot of pain but kept going.
Hope it's only minor

Ian Synman holds the record with 126, IIRC. Wilkie closing in fast on 119 atm. It would be a shame if his run ended when he's so near.
He's a remarkable athlete and player. One we can ill afford to lose, even if only for one game.
