Newcombe for hawks has worked out for them.
With a question mark on Crouch & Seb long term it would make sense to go for Hall if he can slot in this year.
Is Hall better the Bytel?
Sharman was but Hayes was a preseason supplemental pick
Sharman and Heath

Great penetration in his kicking.
Any Intel as to why he didn't get drafted in his draft year?

He looks like he has some moves and good awareness/vision in traffic and newt kick in the highlights vid on the Saints site

Hall was apparently a bit of a bolter this season.

From BF

Bloke i know played with him at Box Hill last year, reckons he is a dead set gun. reckons he is a harder, faster and more skilful than Newcombe.

he hasnt played in the midfield much because of the hawks mids, but reckons he is the type of bloke that leaves it all on the field and would die for his team mates

Tigers fan:

Max Hall is tough
He can play
4 clubs wanted him

Played a lot of his junior footy behind the football was heaving through his legs.

Always has been a big ball winner but has improved his endurance and mid week out of site.

Thank God we picked up a genuine midfielder!

OK. From now, who plays in the AFL team first, Max or Matteus?
Together?

Surely Matteus has an extended spell in the VFL, confidence is shot.

Yep.
Probably take a few to get the right kick to ball ratio working.
But cream rises.

If this dude was any good, me thinks he would have been picked up prior to being a desperate draft pick.

Season 2024 is where RTB is showing the footy world his grasp of the modern game.

Just watched the highlight reel, plenty of dump kicks out of congested stoppages. Just what we need more of.

Not discounting his talent but if the club thinks that's a highlight reel it shows why we are in the predicament we are in.

Good luck to him, but I don’t think any team will find their saviour in the mid season draft!

No, but right now we need any midfield help we can get. Let's no write the guy off before he plays a game.

Glass half full versus Glass half empty.
I like that they’re trying something could have sat on their hands and waited for all those free agents to knock down our door.
Newcombe goes ok why was he overlooked?

Majority of draft picks are "pigs in a poke", even more so those taken in the mid year draft.

Just look at the numerous players selected in the rookie drafts that go on to have illustrious careers in the AFL, as against early draft picks that turn out to be duds.

If reports about Max Hall being a tough hard running mid are correct that's certainly what St Kilda desperately needs....

Actually if you listen to Dalrymple he’s got excellent skills and is a good decision maker in traffic
Likewise just do a bit of general reading on Hawks BF board to get a clue
Alas….just easier isn’t it …shoot from the hip off zip analysis??
Shyte game plan again?

Like I said, not doubting his skill or ability. But we put together a highlights package consisting of plenty of ball winning but also plenty of kick and hope. I'm sure there was much better vision to use.
