Re: MRP pisstake
Lets face it, we are all aware, or most of us anyway, that the AFL and that filth creep Christian play favorites, if they are not actually corrupt.

Re: MRP pisstake
Club should ask for a please explain - nicely and behind the scenes - but I expect it won’t. Those suspensions potentially cost us premiership points.

Re: MRP pisstake
How can it not be a form of corruption.
If he/they were tossing a coin it would sometimes favour an unfashionable club with lesser membership #s.
No way the decisions fit facts or precedents.

Re: MRP pisstake
It's too serious for laughter. They are making a joke of the competition, and it's very sad.
It could only happen in Australia. In other countries they simply wouldn't put up with what's going on.
We just cop all sorts of crap from "authorities " and rationalise it. Someone always knows better so cop it sweet, mugs.

Similar to Max King’s suspension, although Max didn’t jump into him.
Back in the olden days (Round 2) any contact to the head had to be classified as medium impact despite the fact that the Pies player got up and showed no effects from the blow.

Re: MRP pisstake
In my view of the world, Newman's act didn't warrant a suspension: the force of his contact seemed to be very light indeed.
I certainly agree that, in the context of the other suspensions handed out lately, he has been treated extremely leniently. Perhaps he is also a "nice bloke."

Melbourne bloke is lucky he didn’t get a fine for staging.

Re: MRP pisstake
You've said it more succinctly than me. I'm not certain that there was any contact at all.
Still a stupid act by Newman: it could easily have all gone horribly wrong.

Re: MRP pisstake
What happened to minimum "Medium Impact" for any head high hit bumps .... King & Windhager
What happened to "potential to cause injury" ... Ben Long would have got 3 weeks
The fact that Newman used his elbow made it even worse... he actually moved it away from his body
MRO / Christian are a freakin disgrace

Well, yes. But was there actually any contact? I'm not sure there was.Devilhead wrote: ↑Sat 11 May 2024 3:24pm What happened to minimum "Medium Impact" for any head high hit bumps .... King & Windhager

Re: MRP pisstake
Couple of minutes before the 3/4 time siren in the Collingwood vs WCE game, Bytel was dishing out a handball while a West Coast player behind him was trying to tackle him. Darling was facing Bytel as he approached and just 'accidentally' whacked Jack Bytel front on.
Darling made careless contact with Bytel and basically knocked him out. It was not a tackling action.
He chose to bump and his arm and elbow hit Bytel in the face. Umpire was right there and correctly paid the free to Collingwood but Jack had to come off the ground
If Jack Darling was a St Kilda player...OR....
if Jack Darling had hit one of the Collingwood 'darlings'...he'd be facing time on the sidelines

Re: MRP pisstake
Blicavs head high hit on Lachie Whitfield. The fact that the umpire stopped play and paid a free, means it should be looked at by MRO
Intentional, Medium Impact that got Whitfield in the head - 2 weeks. Even if it's cited as careless, he should cop 1 week
Guess who was commentating on FoxFooty? Two Geelong supporters (Anthony Hudson and Duane Russell)...they didn't say boo about it
