Liam Henry
Is not a small forward!!!
He started there at Freo and struggled for consistency- like most small forwards
Moved to the Wing and averaged 25per game
He is being played out of position

Re: Liam Henry
Henry looked sluggish and uninterested all day.
We've already seen he can be dazzling and dynamic, and that he loves being with us.
What's happened with him?

Re: Liam Henry
Will get better when we get more firepower inside support .... see Crouch & Clark ..... also with Higgins back he can move to a that wing- half forward connector role we say him play against the Pies .... cutting thru the center on the outside
One disappointing play on the weekend was just before 3/4 time when Owens was streaming forward and Henry was free 15 to 20m on his right hand side ... Owens ran forward and set sail from the arc and missed .... if he had seen Henry and given it to him Henry could have run to 25-30 out for the easier % shot .... would have put us a goal up going into the break .... it was the smart play but Owens had tunnel vision

Yep...Owens will yet feedback on that in his reviews you'd think.Devilhead wrote: ↑Mon 20 May 2024 7:15am Will get better when we get more firepower inside support .... see Crouch & Clark ..... also with Higgins back he can move to a that wing- half forward connector role we say him play against the Pies .... cutting thru the center on the outside

Henry is building his fitness again and maybe confidence in his body...you'd expect he will return to the wing when Higgins is back.

Re: Liam Henry
I'd say he's building up to it. Doesn't look even 90% fit to me.
Neither does Mason Wood - who was seemingly avoiding contact for most of the match.

Re: Liam Henry
Has come back from a 7 week hamstring. Once Higgins and Butler are back, he'll move up the ground. I think they're still managing him to make sure he doesn't re-injure that hamstring

Re: Liam Henry
Hill on one wing
NWM on the other
What's Henry's role again?
3 players 2 positions. All very similar.
Henry has no goal sence at all (neither do the other two). Finding the right role is the key. Saints have too many outside runners once you throw in Wood, Sinclair and all the youngsters. The outside is a crowded place.
Not a lot of free wind to hoist the sails and use his speed

Re: Liam Henry
Plus after such a long layoff with his hamie. It would have been foolish to play the demanding role of running the wings so soon after that injury. The G Train Legacy wrote: ↑Thu 23 May 2024 3:13pmBecause Higgins and Butler are missing. He wouldn't be there if both were playing.

Re: Liam Henry
The small forward requires more explosive power running
Wing is continual running and more aerobic
I’d argue the chance would be greater i50
Reality is though
Any player, any position any time can blow a hammy
